Then the two superstars made fun of various superstars by listing out various prank items they wished for in the New Year.
As they made fun of Finlay and Hornswoggle, the duo rushed down to the ring. Hornswoggle screamed into the mic and Finlay translated as he hit Morrison in the face. Miz gained an upperhand on Finlay and both men started to attack. Hornswoggle rushed out of the ring and then underneath it. Tony Atlas accompanied Henry to the ring and then Hardy came out to the roar of the crowd. Matt offered a hand for a test of strength early on but then punched Henry in the face instead. Matt used a barrage of right hands then ran against the ropes into a Mark Henry boot. Henry started to take control from here, using his power on Matt, including a headbutt. Matt tried to mount offense but ran into Mark Henry and was knocked to the mat. Henry used a chin/headlock to try to wear him down more. Henry was able to send Matt to the corner and did a seated Splash on him off the bottom rope. Matt managed to get a leg on the ropes to prevent the pinfall.
After a commercial, Henry continued his dominance of the match, until he tried to sit splash Matt in the ring. Matt avoided it and started building up the offense, eventually hitting a Side Effect. Matt signaled for Twist of Fate, but Tony Atlas was up on the apron to distract him. Matt turned and clocked Atlas, knocking him off. Henry had recovered and tried for a clothesline, but Matt ducked him and kicked him in the gut. Matt went for Twist of Fate, but Henry shoved him away. Gabriel fought back again, but Burchill responded with a suplex to bring him back to the mat. Gabriel again began to try to gain some momentum but Burchill shoved him to the ropes. As Gabriel bounced off the ropes Burchill hit him down from behind. Gabriel then countered a Burchill slam attempt by putting him on one shoulder and dropping to the mat. From there Gabriel went to the turnbuckle for his finisher, but Burchill went over and yanked his leg to drop DJ to the mat. Burchill tried to stand up Gabriel for a DDT, but Gabriel was quick to counter it and rolled onto Burchill, holding his legs for a pinfall victory. Gabriel rolled out of the ring holding his head still and Alicia Fox slid over to congratulate him. Fox danced by Gabriel's side as they headed up the ramp and Katie Lea and her brother scowled at them from the ring.

As Finlay came onto the side apron, Morrison was able to get up and run over to clip his leg. Miz took control of Finlay inside the ring. The heel team began to keep Finlay away from a tag and worked to wear him down. Morrison had the pinfall on Finlay, but Boogeyman rushed in and kicked him to break it up, then rushed over to knock Miz off the apron. Finlay was back up and ducked a Morrison clothesline, then knocked him to the mat with repeated clotheslines. Miz entered the ring, but Finlay was able to clothesline him over the top rope. How Jeff Hardy's WWE title win came to be
The decision to give Jeff Hardy the WWE Championship belt took place during a creative team meeting two weeks before the pay-per-view match at Armageddon. Vince McMahon first brought up the idea, which caught most of the creative team by surprise.
Ever since Rob Van Dam’s drug possession arrest in July 2006 (who held two major title belts at the time) and all the drug related suspensions of September 2007, McMahon said they could never put a major title on someone who was at a high risk of being suspended because all of the creative team’s major storyline plans would have to be overhauled not to mention that it would set a bad example.
At the creative team meeting two weeks ago, Stephanie McMahon was the only one to challenge Vince’s idea of giving Jeff Hardy the WWE Championship, bringing up his own doctrine of a wrestler at a high risk of getting suspended receiving a major belt setting a bad example to the talent. Vince acknowledged the doctrine, but said in the short-term, his plan could work if Jeff handled the opportunity properly.
With WWE’s rule of publicly releasing names of talent who fail drug tests putting enough pressure on them as it is, strapping the title on Hardy isn’t going to make people say that they can fail a test with no punishment.
If somehow there is a relapse on Hardy’s part before his title run comes to an end, McMahon made it clear he’s immediately dropping the title as a failed drug test would of course mean the termination of their world champion because it’s would be Jeff’s third strike. McMahon said Hardy getting fired while champion would send the ultimate message to the locker room.

Batista injured and may be out of action for months
Batista suffered a hamstring tear and will be out of action for several months. It is believed he will be undergoing surgery to reattach the muscle.
At this point plans for Cena vs. Batista, probably at Wrestlemania, seem to be out the window. The television storyline will be that Randy Orton's kick to the head gave him a concussion and will be used to set up a feud upon his return.
Deuce has a future in the WWE
Deuce, now known as Sim Snuka better be grateful that he carries that last name. Of course Deuce's father is the wrestling legend Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. Deuce has recently became part of the Randy Orton squad on Raw under his new name Sim Snuka and for now has a future with the WWE. I bet Domino wishes he had a father with some impact on his wrestling career. By the way, Cherry, who was also part of the Deuce and Domino team has recently reported that she is going back to school to further her education, we wish her the best.
Wonder why Miz and Morrison were given the World Tag Team Campionship
The decision to give the Tag Team Title win to John Morrison and The Miz at the WWE live event in Canada a couple of weeks ago was made the previous week. WWE officials have decided to do what it takes to elevate Morrison and The Miz to main event status. This is why you will see them brag about the Tag Titles and their Slammy Awards. The feeling is that they’re in for a long reign as Champions.Labels

WWE Releases Gene Snitsky
The WWE has released Gene Snitsky on 12-11-08.Snitsky debuted with WWE back in September of 2004. Snitsky was part of the WWE Raw roster for some time as well as ECW, and was heavily involved in the "Lita's baby" storyline where he feuded with Kane and eventually caused Lita to have a miscarriage of Kane's baby. His famous line used to be "it wasn't my fault!" Snitsky had PPV matchups involving Kane, Undertaker and Heidenreich. At Taboo Tuesday he used a steel chair to crush Kane's larynx, forcing Kane to leave WWE for a bit.
In 2007, Snitsky headed over to ECW to continue with the gimmick of a shaven-head psychopath, scaring opponents and divas alike backstage. Snitsky made a return to WWE Raw again after being drafted in the 2008 WWE Draft. This time Snitsky contined with his more sinister role, as he looked to extract pain on all opponents. Snitsky soon served mainly as a larger superstar for others to beat en route to win streaks, title shots and title defenses. Jokes were often made about the condition of Snitsky's teeth, which were dirty and yellowish in color.
