ECW Results 08-12-08

ECW started this week with Matt Striker and Todd Grisham announcing that tonight's main event match will be a tag team match. They say that it will be ECW Champion Mark Henry teaming up with his number one contender Matt Hardy against John Morrison and the Miz.

Tommy Dreamer Vs Colin Delaney

Tommy Dreamer came out first as the announcer announced that this match will be contested under extreme rules. Dreamer wheeled out a shopping cart full of some of his favorite weapons. Colin Delaney came out next not looking eager at all for this match. Tommy Dreamer of course is set out for revenge on Delaney for turning his back on him, most recently last week as Delaney interfered in Dreamers match that cost him his match against Armando Estrada. Colin Delaney hesitated getting in the ring for the match and when the bell rang to start the match he tried to run up the ramp but Tommy Dreamer chased him down and started beating on him. Dreamer continued working on him until Delaney was surprisingly able to turn things around for a moment. Delaney tried to jump off the steel chairs with a trash can lid to ram Dreamer in the head but was caught with a kendo stick to the midsection by Dreamer. Dreamer finally threw Delaney into the ring, taking the trash can lid in with him and the kendo stick. In the ring Dreamer whacked Delaney hard with the kendo stick. He then used the kendo stick to support a slam move. With Delaney hanging upside down in the corner of the ropes Dreamer used to trash can as he kicked it into Delaney's head. Delaney then got momentum briefly again but a DDT by Tommy Dreamer ended it as Dreamer got the cover and the win.

Lena Yada is back stage to interview the Miz and John Morrison. Lena congratulated them on their premier of 'The Dirt Sheet' last week on ECW. Highlights were shown of the show which mocked Mark Henry, Tony Atlas and Matt Hardy. Both Henry and Hardy showed up in the ring to confront Miz and Morrison. Hardy attacked them, and Morrison accidentally hit Mark Henry with a punch. Miz and Morrison referred to their upcoming match against Henry and Hardy saying "in life there are winners and losers".

Evan Bourne Vs Bam Neely with Chavo Guerrero

Evan Bourne came out first. Bam Neely came out next escorted by Chavo Guerrero. Bam Neely of course was not 100% after being surprise attacked by Edge last week on Smackdown. The high flying Evan Borne started this match looking good connecting on some flying kicks. Bourne later was going up to the corner turn buckle but had to keep his eye on Chavo Guerrero, this lowed Bourne and allowed Bam Neely to come over and knock Bourne out of the ring. Neely went out and threw Evan Bourne back in the ring and started working on him. He then gave Bourne a monster clothesline and tried to pin him but only got a two count. Evan Bourne was then able to gain control of the match again and then gave a DDT to Bam Neely after Neely had him in the air. Evan Bourne then went air born and hit the shooting star to get the pin and the victory. just a random thought here but Evan Bourne and Rey Mysterio could make a great tag team one day wouldn't they?

Teddy Long was talking business with his assistant Tiffany, when Armando Estrada showed up to interrupt. Estrada brought in his contract telling Teddy Long he won his match to earn a contract with ECW. Teddy signed the contract and asked Tiffany to bring in champagne for a toast. Teddy said now that Estrada's official they can celebrate, and tonight he can wrestle in a match, against Finlay.

Finlay with Hornswoggle Vs Armando Estrada

Finlay and Hornswoggle came out to the ring first followed by Armando Estrada. Estrada course beat Tommy Dreamer last week to earn his ECW contract. Finlay started off the match slapping Estrada and later a monster clothesline. Hornswoggle cheered on his dad as Finlay dominated the beginning of this match. Finlay then dragged Estrado near the outside of the ring and slammed his head right into the edge of the ring apron. Mike Knox was then seen on top of the ramp. Finlay continued to completely dominate this match until Finlay may have gave too much attention to Mike Knox by starring at him. This distraction allowed Armando Estrada to yank Finlay's tights causing him to hit the ropes. Estrada worked on Finlay for a while but Finlay was able to comeback. Finlay ended the match by delivered a Celtic Cross as he stared right out at Knox. When the match was over Finlay signaled for Mike Knox to come on in the ring. Knox then turned around and walked backstage. We then got to see Finlay and Hornswoggle to their Irish dance in the ring with a young fan.

Backstage Teddy was talking with his assistant Tiffany when Ricky Ortiz showed up. Ortiz pitched his new Ricky Ortiz rally towel as a merchandising strategy. Teddy said he knows Ortiz has been successful, but he's going to let him face a new superstar next week on ECW to prove himself again. Ortiz shook Teddy's hand, thanking him for the opportunity.

Backstage Matt Hardy talked to Mark Henry about their upcoming match. Matt said he'd rather be in a tag team match with his brother Jeff, Tommy Dreamer, Finlay or even Bourne that way he wouldn't have to worry about his partner just as much as his opponents. Henry told Matt he only wants to get his hands on Miz and Morrison. Henry also added he hopes Matt gets in his way, because he'll go right through him, just like at Summerslam.

Matt Hardy & Mark Henry with Tony Atlas Vs The Miz & John Morrison

Matt Hardy and Mark Henry argued about who was going to start the match. Hardy then agreed that Mar Henry would against John Morrison. Mark Henry dominated John Morrison just tossing him around like a rag doll. Henry then threw Morrison into the corner, grabbed the Miz and threw him in the ring and then threw the Miz hard against Morrison who was still in the corner. Henry then went running at them, Miz was able to move out of the way but he slammed into Morrison. Miz hits Henry from behind but Matt hardy comes in to work on the Miz and tosses him out of the ring. Meanwhile Henry headbutts Morrison out of the ring. Hardy then goes in and works on Morrison, he tags Henry back in who works on Morrison, Henry tags Hardy back in and he continues to work on Morrison. John Morrison is in trouble as Henry and Hardy completely dominate the match. Matt Hardy misses an elbow drop on Johm Morrison and Morrison is finally able to tag in the Miz. Miz momentarily has control but Hardy gains the edge again and hits the bulldog and goes for the pin but the Miz jumps out. The Miz later takes control of Hardy and tags in Morrison. Morrison began to beat up Matt around the ring. Henry looked on trying to encourage Hardy to break free, Mark Henry was really into it as he surprisingly was trying to root Hardy on. Hardy elbowed Morrison in the corner then got up on the corner ropes. Morrison climbed up with him to suplex him to the mat but Matt countered and brought him down with a side slam. Henry continued to yell for a tag, but Matt took the pinfall with Morrison down for the victory. Mark Henry didn't look to happy that Matt didn't make the tag to him. Henry then went in and beat up the Miz some more and then tossed him out of the ring, Morrison made his own way out of the ring. After the bell, Mark Henry and Tony Atlas demanded the ref raise Henry's arms as victor. Henry held up his ECW title for all to see with Matt Hardy trying to stand up near the ropes. Mark Henry went over and took Matt's arm to raise his arm up as well. The two went to center ring and Matt stumbled a bit, still hurting from the match. Henry pretended to be concerned, but grabbed Hardy and powerslammed him to the mat. Henry and Atlas exited up the ramp staring back at Hardy in the ring.
