ECW Results 09-30-08

ECW GM Theodore Long was in the ring with Tiffany to open the show. Tiffany introduced Teddy Long to the crowd, then introduced ECW champ Matt Hardy, who made his way down to the ring. Matt got into the ring and shook hands with Teddy and Tiffany. Next, Tiffany introduced Mark Henry along with Tony Atlas, and the duo walked intently down to the ring. Mark Henry had a mic in hand and refused to shake Tiffany's hand. Teddy spoke saying he wanted to bring Henry and Hardy face to face one last time before No Mercy to issue any comments they wanted to.

Mark Henry told Matt he's got a tough week ahead of him, because he not only has the No Mercy title fight, but also a Triple Threat Champions match on Smackdown in a few days. Matt told Mark he plans to represent ECW proudly. Henry quipped that Matt didn't beat him for his ECW title, but come Sunday he'll right all the wrongs. Matt said he welcomes challenges, and plans to represent all of the fans and ECW superstars. Henry and Hardy were getting into a confrontation, but just then Morrison and Miz came out to the ramp to interrupt.

Morrison and Miz confronted Teddy about making them go against each other last week. Morrison said they want to face Bourne and Ortiz in a tag match tonight after what Ortiz did last week. Teddy Long said tonight they can team up with Mark Henry to take on Bourne, Ortiz and ECW Champ Matt Hardy.

Lenny Lane vs. Jack Swagger

Swagger was all business in this match, giving Lane barely any chance to attack. With Lane on the mat, Swagger kicked him in the gut hard. As Lane got up he got in a few punches and kicks, but that was it. Swagger fought back then came off the ropes to knee Lane in the face. Swagger used his Powerbomb move to finish off Lane. After the victory, Swagger grabbed Lane who was sitting on the apron and hit a neckbreaker on him. Tommy Dreamer ran down to the ring to attack Swagger, but Swagger was quick to escape the ring and back up the ramp smiling.

Tommy Dreamer vs. Mike Knox

At one point in this contest, Knox was able to chop Dreamer down with a clothesline as he jumped off the corner. Knox slapped a headlock on Dreamer down on the mat to try to wear down the ECW original. Dreamer eventually got to his feet and started to fight back. Knox whipped him to the corner, but Dreamer avoided him when he charged. Dreamer followed with a bulldog, then with Knox down came off the ropes for an elbow drop. Dreamer tried to hoist Knox up on his shoulder, but Knox fought out of it. Dreamer tripped Knox down to the corner, but as Dreamer tried to run at him, Knox moved away and shoved Dreamer shoulder first to the corner ringpost. Knox finished off Dreamer with his twist slam finishing move. After Knox left Dreamer layed out on the mat, Jack Swagger stormed down to the ring and hit his Powerbomb finisher on Dreamer.

A promotional video was shown of Wrestlemania footage from over the years. This Thursday MyNetworkTV will have the Network Broadcast premiere of Wrestlemania 24 on TV. After the video, Grisham and Striker went over the matches for No Mercy including Y2J vs. HBK in a ladder match, Big Show vs. Undertaker, Jeff Hardy vs. Triple H and Mark Henry vs. Matt Hardy.

Evan Bourne & Ricky Ortiz & Matt Hardy vs. John Morrison & The Miz & Mark Henry (6 Man Tag Match)

In preparation for their No Mercy ECW title match, Matt Hardy and Mark Henry headed up opposing teams in this six man tag match. At one point in the match, the heels managed to keep Ortiz isolated from tagging his partners. Morrison repeatedly punched Ortiz in the head, then locked his legs around Ortiz' neck on the mat to wear him down. Ortiz displayed an impressive feat as he was able to stand with Morrison on his shoulders and drop back to the mat. Despite the move, The Miz tagged in and prevented Ortiz from making the tag. Miz worked on Ortiz for a while, then Morrison came back in. Morrison went as far as knocking Matt Hardy off the apron to prevent an Ortiz tag. As Morrison came at Ortiz with a clothesline, Ortiz rolled under it and made the tag to Bourne. Bourne flew into action as he flipped over the ropes to take Morrison down. Bourne hit a knees to the jaw jump off the corner onto Morrison, but Miz came in to break up the pin attempt. Soon Ortiz, Hardy, Miz, Morrison and Bourne were all in the ring at once. Hardy, Ortiz, Miz all ended taking each other to the outside. In the ring, Mark Henry tagged in and went towards Bourne. Bourne tried to mount an offense, but as he came off the ropes and jumped at Henry, Henry caught him in the air then slammed him down for The World's Strongest Slam.

Cole also reminded fans that this Thursday will be the world premiere of Wrestlemania XXIV on MyNetworkTV. Tonight there will be a preview of the event on Raw. Batista's music came on sending the crowd into a frenzy as The Animal comes out from backstage.

Santino Marella vs. Batista

Santino comes out from backstage with Beth Phoenix and a mic in his hand. Santino told Batista to check out the "Honk-a-Meter" which shows Santino has held the IC title for 6 weeks, and has just 58 weeks to beat Honkey Tonk man's reign. Santino then had the Brain Barometer put up, showing he has 10 Trillion brain cells more than the average human brain. Santino had Batista's chart put up which showed he has just 12 brain cells. Santino then said he'd knock out 10 of the brain cells and leave him in worst shape than the US economy. Batista immediately clotheslined down Santino as the bell rang, then rammed him into the corner. After whipping Santino to the other corner, Batista hit the Spinebuster, then got riled up. As Santino stood, Batista looked out at Beth Phoenix and delivered the Batista Bomb for a quick win. Beth stood up on the apron, talking trash to Batista to distract him. All of a sudden, JBL was in the ring and as Batista turned, he received a Clothesline from Hell.

Backstage, Todd Grisham interviewed Shawn Michaels about the main event against Cade and Jericho. Michaels said he trained Cade years ago, and never expected him to show off his skills at Shawn Michael's expense. HBK then said Jericho has just 6 days to be champ, until HBK walks out from No Mercy as the new champ. Michaels said as for his partner, he was considering a "Real American", a "Texas Rattlesnake", or "the Best there was, best there is and best there ever will be". HBK said he wants to find a tag partner who actually likes him.

JTG vs. The Miz

JTG was accompanied by Big Shad. Michael Cole reminded fans of the "Word Up" show on WWE.com that Cryme Tyme has. An excerpt was shown of The Dirt Sheet where Miz and Morrison mocked Cryme Tyme's fathers as nerdy type characters. During the match, Miz had the upperhand but as he came at JTG from the ropes, JTG avoided him. JTG used a clothesline style takedown. Before he could get momentum, John Morrison was on the side apron. Big Shad rushed over to swipe Morrison's leg, causing him to fall on the apron. JTG was distracted as he watched the incident, allowing the Miz to stun him, then hit the Reality Check for the win. Miz and Morrison taunted Cryme Tyme as they backed up the ramp.

Backstage, Jamie Noble went up to Jillian Hall. Jamie said even though he doesn't like her singing talents he needs a partner for an inter-gender tag match. Jillian said if Layla didn't want to be seen with him, she wouldn't either. Just then Dolph Ziggler came up to them and introduced himself to Jillian. He tried to shake Noble's hand, but Noble walked off angrily.

Jamie Noble & Mickie James vs. Paul Burchill & Katie Lea

Before the match started, William Regal came out to the top of the ramp where a throne was set up. Regal was accompanied by Layla who stood next to the throne to watch the match. Noble had to fight solo against the brother-sister duo, until all of a sudden, Mickie James emerged from backstage to be his partner. Under inter-gender rules, men could battle against women in this matchup. Noble looked out at Regal and Layla as he went to the top ropes and did a dropkick onto Burchill. Katie Lea came in to break up the pin attempt, so Mickie charged in to knock Katie Lea out of the ring. Burchill tried to set up Noble for a finisher, but Noble countered and put an armbar submission hold on. Burchill quickly tapped out in pain. Noble went to the corner ropes after the bell and looked straight out at Layla/Regal.

Raw returned with a backstage shot of Rhodes, Manu and Dibiae cautiously entering a back hallway. Rhodes told Manu to let him do the talking. Rhodes walked up to Kane who had his back turned to them. Rhodes said since Kane's father is Paul Bearer, that makes him a second generation superstar like them. Rhodes said they need to act as a unit tonight in their 8 man tag match. Dibiase said they want to make sure they're on the same page. Kane turned and said he doesn't take orders from anyone, but he will massacre Rey Mysterio tonight. Kane warned the 3 men to stay out of his way or they'd be a second generation pile of bodies.

Footage was shown of HBK in a handicap match last week against Cade and Jericho. Jericho almost received a Superkick, but he fell back to the corner. Just then, Lance Cade delivered his finisher on Michaels to win it for his team.

Cade came to the top of the ramp, mic in hand. Cade declared he was the man to beat his one-time mentor, HBK. Cade said he's learned more from Jericho in a short time, then in his long-time training under HBK. Cade said tonight Michaels will either lose to him or Chris Jericho, just like he will Sunday. Cade said Jericho will still be World Heavyweight Champion after No Mercy.

CM Punk & Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne & Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes & Ted Dibiase & Manu & Kane (8 Man Tag Match)

At one point in the match, the action got fast and furious. The ring was cleared of the heels, and then Kingston and Punk ran across the ring and dove through the ropes out into Rhodes & Dibiase. Rey Mysterio did a springboard off the top ropes and jumped out onto Kane as Raw hit a commercial break. Raw resumed with the heels in control of Evan Bourne, and they worked to isolate him from his partners. Bourne finally escaped to tag in CM Punk. Punk began to take out his frustrations on Manu. Ted Dibiase ran over on the apron, but Punk delivered a kick to his head. Just then, Manu clipped Punk's leg, taking him down. Rhodes tagged in to continue the punishment. Kane tagged in and began to kick Punk repeatedly on the mat. The heels continued to keep Punk away from a tag and worked on his hurt knee. With the crowd behind him, Punk avoided an elbow drop from Rhodes and tagged in Kofi Kingston. Kingston went into a frenzy knocking Rhodes around the ring. Kingston got riled up and hit a double leg drop on Rhodes. Manu came into the ring to break up the pin. Evan Bourne rushed into the ring to take out Manu. As things got wild, Kane made a tag in and was about to deliver a chokeslam on Kofi. Just then, Mysterio did a springboard off the top ropes and dropkicked Kane to the corner. Dibiase came in and went after Rey, but Rey was able to flip them both over the top rope out of the ring. Kingston ran at Kane in the corner, but Kane caught him in mid air with his hand on his throat, then Chokeslammed him down. After the win, Kane diabolically smiled and talked trash to Rey Mysterio as he headed up the ramp.

Raw GM Mike Adamle was in the ring as Raw returned. Adamle said earlier that Kane made a request. Adamle said he told Kane if he won tonight, that he would honor the request. Adamle said Kane's request was that if he beats Rey Mysterio at No Mercy, Rey must remove his mask in the ring. Just then as Adamle was speaking, Randy Orton's music came on and Orton came down to interrupt.

Orton asked Adamle if he needs to call Shane McMahon about his decisions to make sure they're ok. Orton told Adamle he doesn't like how he allowed Shane McMahon to overrule his suspension decision on CM Punk last week. Orton told Adamle to re-suspend CM Punk, and to start standing up for himself. Orton said once he returns he will own things on Raw, just like when he was champ. Orton said Adamle will need him on his side. Just then, JBL's music came on. JBL came out from backstage with a mic in hand, and JBL walked down to the ring.

JBL said next week he'll defeat Batista at No Mercy, and then will face Jericho or Michaels to become the next champ. JBL said this is right now, and while Orton's past was glorious, it's over. JBL said Orton is still living in the past. JBL started asking Adamle to make a stipulation that when JBL beats Batista at No Mercy, that Orton never gets a title shot ever. Just then, Batista's music came on. Orton and Adamle cleared out of the ring, and JBL stared up the ramp ready for Batista to charge down. Batista snuck into the ring behind him. As JBL turned, Batista caught him with a Spear taking JBL to the mat. Batista grabbed the mic and said JBL may have had a bad week, but at No Mercy it will get a lot worse.

Backstage, Santino Marella was shown talking on his cell phone. As Santino turned the corner he saw Beth Phoenix and started pretending he was talking to a "Frank". Beth asked who it was and Santino said it was a sick kid who he promised to win a match for. Beth told Santino to stay backstage because she didn't want him messing up her match tonight. Beth said Santino caused her to lose last week, and she didn't want a repeat.

Kelly Kelly and Candice were shown walking backstage on their way out to the ring.

Kelly Kelly & Candice Michelle vs. Jillian Hall & Beth Phoenix

Kelly Kelly managed to flip out of Beth Phoenix's clutches and landed on her feet. Beth quickly knocked Kelly Kelly down. Beth tried for the pinfall but Candice came in to prevent it. Jillian who was outside the ring grabbed Candice's feet and yanked her outside the ring. Beth turned to watch what was going on as Kelly got up. Kelly went for a roll up pinfall, but Beth escaped it, countered and put Kelly into her finisher to slam her face first to the mat for the win.

Deuce vs. The Great Charli (Charlie Hass)

Charlie Haas came out on stilts in a wig and fake chin as "The Great Charli". CHarli was accompanied by Khali's translator, Runjan Singh. Prior to the match, Charlie began yelling jibberish with Runjan Singh translating. Deuce tried to come off the ropes to start things off, but caught a chop to the head. Charli hit a headbutt and was going to do a double-handed slam, but Deuce delivered a serious kick to his face. Deuce came running off the ropes to deliver an elbow drop, but Haas stuck a leg up. As Haas' wig came off he started going wild, with a flurry of punches on Deuce, then a dropkick, and finally a clothesline off the top turnbuckle. After the bell, Runjan Singh arrived from backstage with the real Great Khali. Khali began to walk down the ramp towards the ring. Khali got into the ring to face Charli, and Runjan Singh translated for Khali. Singh introduced Great Charli to Great Khali. Khali was smiling as Charli put a hand out for a handshake. Khali chopped him down to the mat, then raised his arms up as he let out a roar.

Jericho said he doesn't need luck to win, because he's better than Michaels is. Jericho gave a demonstration, when he asked Lance Cade to get a ladder from under the ring. Cade grabbed a ladder and Jericho narrated what he will do with the ladder to HBK. Cade slammed the ladder against the ringpost and steel post, then tossed it into the ring. Jericho made as if he was slamming the ladder on HBK's head over and over. Jericho said he'll finish off by caving in HBK's rib cage with the ladder. Jericho showed what he thought of luck by walking under the ladder then saying since he's best in the world he doesnt' need luck. Michaels came out to the ramp briefly with his music playing, then went backstage to get his partner. All of a sudden, the DX Theme music came on. After a delay, Shawn Michaels came out with Triple H for a DX reunion. In the matchup, it went back and forth until Triple H gained an advantage finally against Lance Cade. As Cade stood up, Triple H put him into the Pedigree. Jericho rushed into the ring to ambush HHH, and hit the Codebreaker. Michaels ran into the ring to knock down Jericho, but as Michaels got up and turned around, Cade caught him with a vicious clothesline. Jericho and Cade began to stomp and pound on HBK down on the mat. The ref called for the bell as a DQ. With HHH still on the outside, Cade held Michaels up as Jericho punched away at him. Jericho went to the outside and retrieved a ladder which he brought into the ring. All of a sudden the crowd went wild, as HHH came into the ring with Sledgehammer in hand. Jericho dropped the ladder and quickly escaped the ring. Cade turned around and caught the sledgehammer in his gut. Jericho yelled for Cade to get out of the ring, but he then caught Michaels' Sweet Chin Music followed by HHH's Pedigree. HHH set up the ladder near the corner of the ring. CMT Gets ready to rumble with "HULK HOGAN'S CELEBRITY CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING" premiering Saturday, October 18

The legendary Hulk Hogan returns to the ring as the host and judge of CMT's new series HULK HOGAN'S CELEBRITY CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING, premiering Saturday, October 18 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT. The cast of 10 celebrity wrestling hopefuls will find themselves put to the test as they master the ring and their competitors during their attempts to turn themselves into professional-quality wrestlers.

Hogan, along with former World Championship Wrestling President Eric Bischoff and professional wrestling manager Jimmy Hart will team up to judge the contestants including former NBA champion Dennis Rodman, "Bewitched" actress Erin Murphy, Playboy playmate Nikki Ziering, "Different Strokes" actor Todd Bridges, Super Heavyweight boxer ButterBean, reality TV star Trishelle Cannatella, "Saved by the Bell"s Dustin Diamond, actor, boxer and recording artist Frank Stallone, pop sensation Tiffany, and reality TV star and radio host Danny Bonaduce -- as they compete for the title of "Celebrity All Star Heavyweight Champion." The contestants must all exhibit their top physical and showmanship skills in the ring if they don't want to be deemed a "Jabroni" (a fake, phony, or fool) by Hulk Hogan and kicked out of the competition.

The contestants will be split into two teams and coached by former professional wrestlers Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake and Brian "Nasty Boy" Knobs. "Team Beefcake" and "Team Nasty" are required to learn three new moves each week and perform in front of a live audience where they are judged on technical ability and showmanship, both as individuals and as team players. Each match will see the two teams fight to prevent their possibility of elimination from the competition. When the match is over, someone will be eliminated and sent home.

As the contestants learn in episode one, performing like a professional wrestler requires intense conditioning. Hulk Hogan sizes each contestant up and gives them their first assignment- to master classic wrestling moves known as "The Clothesline," "The Forearm Smash," and the "Kick to the Midsection." The two teams spend the first couple days practicing with trainers and each other perfecting the intricate choreography, athleticism, and showmanship necessary for the match in front of a live audience. By the time they reach the ring for the first battle, between the screaming crowd and the judges, both teams are as fired up as true wrestling veterans.

"Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling" is created and executive produced by Eric Bischoff and Jason Hervey of Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment as well as Hulk Hogan. Melanie Moreau and Bob Kusbit are executive producers for CMT.

Calling all Japanese Wrestlers!

As a part of their international expansion, WWE is looking to sign more Japanese wrestlers. The company has signed New Japan wrestler Naofumi Yamamoto and had talks with Takeshi Morishima a month or so back. WWE is also still looking to sign more talents from Mexico.

WWE not so quick on disciplining Jeff Hardy

While WWE won’t be taking any disciplinary action against Hardy for his most recent incident, some "what if" conversations have sparked up within the company. Hardy is obviously a big draw for WWE who also moves a fair amount of merchandise, and would be much more valuable to competition this time around if they were to let him go. One source says that WWE will be reluctant to call Hardy’s "third strike", as they are very aware of the potential business TNA could do with him after his major push on RAW.

The recent airport incident, where Hardy was allegedly intoxicated in public, was said to be a wakeup call for WWE management and he likely won’t be getting the same star treatment he was before.

ECW Results 09-23-08

Jim Ross partnered with Matt Striker this week as the ECW commentators. The Miz and John Morrison came down the ramp and made their way to the ring. They grabbed a few mics to address an issue with Evan Bourne. The Miz claimed he was athletically superior to Evan Bourne last week and Evan Bourne only got the win over hm because Ricky Ortiz helped him win. Footage was shown where Morrison yanked Bourne's foot from ringside. Ricky Ortiz came over to crash into Morrison, allowing Bourne to pickup a pinfall victory. Miz and Morrison complained about having to compete against the new Superstar initiative. They called out the ECW General Manager Teddy Long for scheduling them in these matches lately.

Teddy Long came out with microphone in hand. From the ramp, Teddy said the new superstar initiative has brought in some great new talent. Morrison brought up Braden Walker being released after just two matches. Teddy said ECW will continue to supply the young superstars for WWE. Teddy said if Miz and Morrison don't like competition they can leave now. Miz and Morrison demanded a match against Ricky Ortiz and Evan Bourne tonight. Teddy told them they knew Evan Bourne wasn't present tonight. Miz and Morrison kept talking trash until Ricky Ortiz came out. Ortiz challenged, asking which superstar wants to face him. Miz and Morrison both claimed they could beat anyone. Teddy took them up on their offer, saying the could face each other, then the winner gets Ortiz right after.

J.R. revisiting highlights from last night's Raw where Kane decimated Evan Bourne in a singles match. Rey Mysterio tried to come down to aid his friend, but Kane knocked Rey to the mat and brutally attacked him as well. Rey and Kane will meet one on one at No Mercy.

Backstage, ECW GM Teddy Long told Ricky Ortiz that he's got his toughest match so far tonight. Ortiz thanked him for the opportunity saying he's got something in his pocket for tonight. Just then Teddy's assistant Tiffany came up to them, saying she likes Ricky's chances. Ricky said he has the Ricky O Rally towel in his pocket, then Tiffany took it and put it around her neck saying it feels good.

Finlay vs. Bam Neely

Bam Neely arrived to the ring without Chavo Guerrero who last Friday on Smackdown was grabbed by the Undertaker. In tonight's match, Bam was able to gain the upperhand and put Finlay into a Boston Crab submission hold. Hornswoggle came into the corner of the ring with a shilaleigh and Bam saw him from the corner of his eye. Bam got up and grabbed Hornswoggle then tossed him across the ring. As the referee was distracted, Finlay grabbed the shilaleigh and clocked Bam Neely over the skull with it, then took a pinfall for the win.

WWE 24/7 Classics on Demand showed March 23, 1992 tag team fight with Sid Justice & Ric Flair taking on Roddy Pipper and Hulk Hogan. The classic match occurred just before Wrestlemania VIII with Hogan and Piper picking up the victory.

Jim Ross reminded fans that ECW moves to 9PM EST on Sci-Fi starting next Tuesday.

Maryse vs. Michelle McCool (Non-Title Match)

According to J.R., Divas Champion Michelle McCool granted Maryse this non-title rematch on ECW. McCool tackled Maryse as the bell sounded and the two divas rolled on each other punching away to start the match. At one point, Maryse went to the outside and Michelle tried for a slide dropkick. Maryse moved away then ran and clotheslined Michelle down to gain the advantage. Maryse used a Camel Clutch submission to wear down Michelle in the ring. Michelle regained control of things and went to the corner for a move. Maryse got up and came over to slam Michelle down to the mat. Maryse then cockily picked up Michelle by the hair, then used her finisher DDT to win the match. Maryse finally picked up a win over McCool but unfortunately for her it came in a non-title match.

Jim Ross and Matt Striker ran down the lineup for No Mercy including Jeff Hardy vs Triple H, Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho Ladder match, and Mark Henry taking on Matt Hardy for the ECW title.

Mark Henry and Tony Atlas came out to the top of the ramp. Henry vowed he will leave Matt Hardy a mess in the ring when he takes back his title at No Mercy. Henry said he'll prove that Matt Hardy isn't a champion, but Mark Henry is the World's Strongest Champion.

Chase Stevens vs. Mike Knox

Knox started off taking Stevens to the corner where he attacked until the referee stopped things. Knox continued to dominate from here, whipping Stevens to the other corner then rushing into him. Knox slammed Stevens to the mat then delivered a solid knee drop into him. Knox delivered a hard right hand, then a serious clothesline. Finally, Knox used his finisher to twist slam Stevens to the mat and get the win. As Knox was heading backstage, Jack Swagger came out from backstage and walked down the ramp to the ring. Swagger kept smiling and got into the ring to slam down Stevens again. Tommy Dreamer charged down to the ring to chase off Jack Swagger. As Dreamer checked on Stevens, Mike Knox had come down and got onto the apron. Dreamer stood up to face him, but Swagger got back in the ring to attack Dreamer. Swagger hit his finisher on Dreamer, and left the ring all smiles with Dreamer and Stevens down on the mat.

Smackdown Rebound had coverage of Vladimir Kozlov's rampage against the roster as he searched for new competition. Kozlov attacked both Jeff Hardy and Triple H in the same night, leaving both men down.

The Miz vs. John Morrison (Winner faces Ricky Ortiz)

The former tag team champs faced one another for the chance to take on Ricky Ortiz afterwards. Both men displayed effective attacks against one another. At one point, the two went to the top corner to battle. Miz was about to hit the suplex but Morrison hit him in the leg and both men crashed to the mat. Morrison was holding his neck/head and Miz was holding his knee as the referee counted both men down on the mat. So the match ended with no official winner! Ricky Ortiz didn't care though! After the bell sounded, Ricky Ortiz charged down to the ring to face both the Miz and Morrison. Ortiz took advantage of the fact both Miz and Morrison crashed down to the mat and hurt themselves in their contest. Ortiz hit the huge O splash on Miz, just as Morrison got to his feet. Ortiz then came off the ropes to hit a shoulder block on Morrison. Ortiz hit the O splash on Morrison then rolled out of the ring. As he headed back up the ramp, Ortiz found a blonde female fan who gave him a kiss.

Raw Results 09-22-08

Raw kicked off with a ladder in the ring and the World Heavyweight title hanging above it. Chris Jericho made his way down to the ring after his theme music video and pyrotechnics. Jericho climbed to the top of the ladder and sat there discussing how at No Mercy he'll thwart Shawn Michaels attempts to re-write history and take away the title. As Jericho continued his speech, Randy Orton came to the ring to interrupt. Orton told Jericho he only won the title due to Orton kicking Punk in the head at Unforgiven. Orton and Jericho got in each other's faces and Orton vowed to be champ again. Orton also added that if Jericho or any other superstar layed a hand on him, they'd be suspended by orders of GM Mike Adamle. Jericho told Orton he was done wasting his time with him, and exited the ring. Orton continued yelling as Jericho walked up the ramp with the title, and finally Orton tossed the ladder out of the ring. Next, CM Punk made a surprise entrance and came to the ring to confront Orton. Punk tried to hold himself back, but suddenly slapped Orton in the face twice. As Orton fell to the corner, GM Mike Adamle rushed to the ring with a mic in hand. Adamle told Punk to cool down and then informed him since he violated his direct edict, Punk was suspended. Suddenly, Shane McMahon appeared from backstage to the cheers of the crowd. Shane came down to the ring and told GM Adamle he knows he's getting a lot of on-the-job training, and therefore he was overturning the Punk suspension. Shane told Orton to leave the ring, then said Punk can start off Raw facing Cody Rhodes. Shane also announced a main event tag match: JBL & Jericho vs. Batista and HBK.

CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes

Late in the match, Rhodes and Punk traded ankle lock submission holds. Punk wrenched the hold in tightly and Rhodes was able to stretch out in agony and grab the bottom rope. The referee screamed at Punk to break the hold and began counting. Punk broke the hold at the last moment possible. As Rhodes stood up, Punk slapped him several times, then used vicious kicks and knees on him. Punk delivered a knee to Rhodes in the corner, then went for a bulldog. Rhodes shoved Punk away, but Punk came right back to deliver the GTS for the win. After the win, Manu and Ted Dibiase stormed the ring and attacked Punk. They had the upperhand until Kofi Kingston arrived to the ring to make the save.

Members of the Cincinnati Bengals were shown in the front row of the audience. Michael Cole introduced the Smackdown Rebound. Highlights were shown from last week's show with Vladimir Kozlov attacking both Jeff Hardy and Triple H as he continues his search for better competition.

Backstage, Shane McMahon commended Mike Adamle on the job he's doing so far. Kane burst into the office saying its great Adamle is delivering Evan Bourne to him in a match tonight, but he still wants Rey Mysterio. Adamle said it's a done deal and the two will face off at No Mercy. Kane left but first told Shane to say hi to his mother. Shane filled Adamle in on the history between he and Kane.

A WWE staff member was talking with Kelly Kelly backstage, then left. Beth Phoenix and Santino Marella came up to her. Santino was wearing a face mask due to injuries from last week when Batista attacked he and Beth. Beth told Kelly Kelly she saw her laughing at what Batista did to them last week, so she requested a match against her tonight. Santino started mocking Batista's entrance, when Batista walked up behind him, startling Santino. Beth Phoenix told Batista she's gonna take care of his friend and if Batista interferes, Santino will take care of him. Santino took off running as his theme music began playing for his upcoming match.

Santino Marella vs Deuce

Highlights were shown of Batista delivering Spinebusters on both Santino and Beth Phoenix in the ring, one on top of the other. Santino wore a face mask to the ring, and demanded the Honk-a-Meter be shown. Honky Tonk Man was IC champ for 64 weeks and Santino has been champ for 5. Deuce's theme music came on to interrupt, as Deuce came to the ring. Deuce went to work on Santino's face to exploit the injury, delivering a fist drop from off the ropes in addition to several other moves. Santino got up from the mat and attempted to whip Deuce to the corner quickly, but Deuce countered to send Santino over. Henry said the only reason Matt won last week was due to Finlay's use of a shillelagh as a weapon. Henry said tonight Finlay's Luck of the Irish has run out.

The Miz Vs Evan Bourne

The Miz and John Morrison make their way to the ring first. After John Morrison's win over Bourne last week thanks to a distraction by the Miz it was the Miz's turn against Bourne. Henry began standing on top of Finlay near the ropes, then knocked him to the outside. Henry began clamping down on Finlay's shoulder in the ring. At one point, Henry locked in a vicious Bear Hug on Finlay to squeeze the life out of him. Henry repeatedly slammed Finlay down to the mat, and the ref had to check on Finlay in the ring corner. As Finlay said he was ok, he went to stand and Henry charged at him. Finlay avoided the running Henry, and tried to regain some momentum. After a missed elbow drop by Henry, Finlay rolled out of the ring then used the side apron cover to pull over Henry's head. As Finlay beat on Henry, Tony Atlas ran over and pushed Hornswoggle. Atlas ran into the ring and Finlay followed. Meanwhile, outside Henry went over and put his hands on Hornswoggle. Finlay saw it while the ref was getting Atlas out of the ring. Finlay ran over with a shillelagh and cracked down on Henry's arm. Back in the ring, Finlay gave all he had to Henry including a DDT, but couldn't capture a pin. Finlay tried to grab Henry's left arm for a submission hold, but Henry used it to swat Finlay into the ring corner. Kane said the fans only care about themselves. ECW star Evan Bourne came up to Kane and told Kane that Rey is courageous and how Rey paved the way for him in the WWE. Bourne also said that he can't wait to see Rey defeat Kane later on. Kane just started laughing maniacally as Bourne left.

Rey came off the ropes and got a spinning headscissors on Morrison, sending him to the ropes. A 619 followed, then Rey tagged in Bourne for a Shooting Starpress off the corner turnbuckle. Jericho came to the ring with his protege Lance Cade. In this one, Batista dominated from the onset, as it seemed Jericho was still nursing injuries from last night's encounter with HBK. At one point, Jericho rolled out of the ring for a timeout. Mike Adamle came to the ramp with a mic and informed them to stop the match. Unforgiven Results 2008

Unforgiven featured three championship scramble matches. Since these are the first championship scramble matches in WWE history, I’m going to take a moment to explain the rules of the match. Each match featured five men and was 20-minutes long. The matches started with 2 men in the ring and every five minutes another man would be added to the match. Whenever anyone pins or forces an opponent to submit, they will be declared the interim champion. The wrestler that obtains the final pin fall or submission during the 20-minutes will walk out of the ring as the champion. The champion at the beginning of this match does not have to be pinned or forced to submit to lose their title.

While he was not named, the mystery man is Afa Anoa'i Jr., the son of WWE Hall-of-Famer Wild Samoan Afa. Winners: DiBiase and Rhodes

Unsanctioned Match

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho

A few days prior to this match, Shawn suffered a legitimate tear to his left triceps and his arm is heavily bandaged. This brawl was methodically paced and saw a variety of weapons used. The match took a turn for the worse for Shawn when Lance Cade got involved and went after the injured arm. Chris and Lance worked on the arm for several minutes until Shawn was able to reverse the situation. Shawn was able to deliver an elbow off the top rope through the announce table that he had positioned both Cade and Jericho on. Shawn then rolled Jericho back into the ring and proceeded to use his belt on Jericho. Jericho was unconscious while Shawn unmercifully punched Jericho in the eye with his fist that was wrapped in the belt. The referee stopped the match and awarded it to Shawn. Winner: Shawn Michaels

Randy Orton goes into the locker room of Simply Priceless. They state that the mystery man’s name is Manu, the son of Afa. Orton refused to give the champions credit for their victory and said that they accomplished nothing. He told them that luck runs out and talent lives forever.

Jeff Hardy and Shelton Benjamin start the match off. Brian Kendrick entered the match next and was pinned by Hardy but he was able to return the favor and pinned Hardy before MVP entered the match. A minute later, Jeff Hardy pinned MVP after hitting the Twist of Fate. With two minutes left, Triple H pinned Kendrick. As soon as Triple H got off of him, Jeff hit the Swanton Bomb on Kendrick to get the pin. With seconds left in the match, Triple H pinned MVP just as Jeff was about to pin Shelton. Triple H remains WWE Champion.

ECW Results 09-02-08

ECW starts out with a brief memorial in the memory of Walter "Killer" Kowalski 1926-2008.

The Miz and John Morrison opened the show up in the ring with 'The Dirt Sheet'. Miz talked about himself becoming the new ECW Champion this Sunday at 'Unforgiven'. John Morrison said how unfortunate it is that he didn't qualify for the ECW Championship scramble match at that it is bogus that a former ECW champion did not qualify, the Miz agreed. The Miz then said that they will now take a look at the other participants of the ECW Championship scramble match. They introduce Mark Henry who comes out with the ECW belt around his waist and wearing a big smile. Tony Atlas of course was with him and seems that he may be making a habit of showing his biceps now. The Miz and Morrison are sitting in their chairs in the ring and were making fun of how big Mark Henry is. Morrison welcomes them to 'The Dirt Sheet' and Tony Atlas tells him that he hopes they are not going to have a repeat like last time. Morrison and Miz say absolutely not and that they realize that last time they were unprofessional with them but that they learned their lesson. Morrison throws a quick insult at Henry's weight, Henry gets mad but is stopped by Tony Atlas. Miz and Morrison then introduce a former ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero who comes out with Bam Neely. When they come out there is no Chavo Music playing. Actually there was but not his real music. It was a pre made cheap imitation version of his intro song done by the Miz and Morrison. Chavo looks pissed and Miz and Morrison are laughing in the ring. Mark Henry even found it amusing and was laughing. Chavo was mad when he got in the ring, Miz and Morrison said that there must be something wrong with the television production truck and apologized. Chavo said that he is excited to take back his ECW Championship this Sunday, the one that Kane stole from him at Wrestlemania, Mark Henry begged to defer. Miz told Chavo that he sounded like a baby because his match with Kane was over six months ago. Chavo was going to attack the Miz but Morrison stopped him. They then said their next guest was Finlay but that Finlay could not be there tonight because he couldn't find a babysitter. They said that they have via satellite though his brothers. They cut to footage of "Finlay's brothers" who were Miz and Morrison dressed up in a pre-taped bar segment. Mark Henry, Chavo Guerrero and everyone else in the ring was laughing. The real Finlay made his way to the ring along with Hornswoggle, seeming to laugh it off. Finlay said "hello brothers" then told Hornswoggle to greet his uncles. Hornswoggle ran over and kicked Miz in the leg getting a roar out of the crowd. Morrison then introduced the next guest. He said Jeff, then was corrected by Miz that it was Matt, Morrison said "whatever". Finlay reminded Morrison that it was the guy who beat him to qualify for the scramble, Morrison looked angry. Matt Hardy came out to a thunderous ovation from the crowd. The crowd chanted "Hardy, Hardy, Hardy". Hardy reminded Morrison how he beat him and then said how it's a little odd that Tony Atlas and Bam Neely are in the ring because they are not in the scramble but that he's sure that they are here to give moral support to their male partners, if they know what he means. He told Morrison that he thought he hung around Morrison because it made him look like a tough guy. He then criticized Chavo and Bam Neely and then was about to go at Mark Henry but Henry stopped him and said that if he was him he would shut his mouth. Henry said that he don't want to give these people a preview because he will clean the whole ring out. Henry said after 'Unforgiven' he will still be the worlds strongest champion. Hardy told him that he better make sure that Tony Atlas gets a good night sleep so that he can break up a lot of pinfalls to save his ECW Championship. Henry and Hardy got confrontational but the Miz got in between and told them that they are not going to ruin 'The Dirt Sheet'. That ended though when John Morrison attacked Matt Hardy and a all out brawl broke out in the ring between everyone. Tommy Dreamer and Evan Bourne even rushed down to the ring to assist.

Backstage the brawl was still going on with everyone. ECW GM Teddy Long then intervened and set up a 8 man tag team match for tonight and told them to save it for the ring.

Spears grabbed Super Crazy's legs and tossed him off the corner. Spears began to knee Super crazy in the head, then slammed him to the mat, stomping on his head. Spears tried to lock in a headlock but Super Crazy fought his way out near the ropes. Despite Crazy getting away, Spears tripped him down to the mat and elbowed him in the head. At one point, Crazy charged at Spears in the corner, with Spears trying to toss him over the top rope. Crazy landed on the apron, then as Spears turned, delivered a kick to his head and shoved him to the mat. Super Crazy did a moonsault jump off the middle rope and splashed onto Spears to pick up the victory. Spears is now 0-2 in his ECW attempts.

Ricky Ortiz has been a perfect 4-0 so far at ECW so far.In the match up, the undefeated Ortiz was kicking Braddock in the corner of the ring. Braddock fell to the corner, but then yanked Ortiz by the trunks causing him to hit the corner. Braddock climbed the top rope then grabbed Ortiz' head and jumped to slam him face first into the mat. Braddock continued to dominate Ortiz, and locked a choke hold on him down on the mat. The fans began encouraging Ortiz with the rally towels, and Ortiz broke the hold then was able to come off the ropes and knock Braddock around. Ortiz lifted Braddock on his shoulder for a powerslam. Ortiz followed by going to the corner ropes and jumping for a shoulder block. Ortiz finished with "The Big O" splash from off the ropes.

Jericho told Michaels to admit he's the reason HBK is leaving WWE. HBK told Jericho to admit he'll never be Shawn Michaels. Lance Cade came to the ring to attack Michaels, but HBK fought him off and beat him down in the ring. Jericho escaped up the ramp, and the two stared each other down as Raw ended.
