ECW GM Tiffany was in the ring to start off the show, and welcomed fans to a new era of ECW. Tiffany said that ECW will continue to host the most talented young superstars in pro-wrestling via the Superstar Initiative, and that the show may have lost several key stars but it's gained some big stars as well. Tiffany said it was time to kick things off, and Shelton Benjamin arrived to the ring to start it off.

As the bell rang, Shelton waltzed around and continued to bow to the crowd, mocking the new superstar. Shelton did a fake Sumo stance, then another bow to Yoshi. As Shelton came up from the bow, Yoshi connected on a serious kick to his head and KO'd Shelton to the mat for a winning pinfall. Yoshi celebrated and then bowed to his fallen opponent before leaving. Yoshi Tatsu wins via pinfall over Shelton Benjamin.

Abraham Washington came to the ring for his brand new ECW talk show. Washington then introduced The Bella Twins, ECW's newest acquisitions. During the show, a special corner ad displayed for ECW saying it will air next week on Thursday at 7PM EST. During his routine, Washington made several wise crack question jokes asking if the Bellas wore weaves. Washington also asked several questions to get the Twins mad at each other, such as who had the first kiss, and which Twin is the better athlete. Nikki and Brie started arguing as to who was the better twin when it came to keeping a boyfriend. As the Bellas started arguing, Washington said the show had to come to an end, and he tried to sit in between them on the couch. The Bellas both got up at once and left Washington in the ring.
Oliver John vs. Sheamus
Sheamus was yet another newcomer on the ECW program, and squared off against an amateur, Oliver John. Sheamus cut a promo on the mic about being an Irish Celtic warrior and how he was there to claim ECW as his own. Sheamus was able to knock down John with a hard clubbing forearm before he locked in a chinlock on him. As John stood up to the crowd's clapping, Sheamus threw him back down, then whipped him to the corner so he could ram into him. John finally fought back a bit, but was soon whipped to the ropes and came back into a hard boot by Sheamus followed by him slamming John down across his knee before the pin. Sheamus wins via pinfall over Oliver John.
Backstage, Vladimir Kozlov was shown getting himself prepared for the main event. William Regal came walking up and told Kozlov to remember what they talked about. Regal said he doesn't want to be embarassed on his first night with ECW. Koloz said something in Russian then said "embarass you, I got it".

Orton beat Bourne by pinfall, then Swagger came down and was purposely counted out, out of respect for Orton. Mark Henry pretended he was going to do the same, then waved his finger no, smiling, and got back in the ring to fight. Henry took the fight to Orton and hit the World's Strongest Slam to win it.
Christian was shown walking backstage, then came up to Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer asked Christian if he's ready. Christian said they're in the same arena where he made his return to WWE & ECW. Christian also let Dreamer know he plans to regain the ECW title. Dreamer asked why Christian picked right before the tag match to tell him all this, then said let's go.
Christian & Tommy Dreamer vs. William Regal & Vladimir Kozlov
Early on Christian took it to Regal, before Regal tagged in Vladimir Kozlov. Christian continued trying to fight and elude Kozlov but was eventually knocked down. Kozlov put Christian up on his shoulder to squeeze the life out of him. Christian eventually slid off and tagged in Dreamer. Dreamer punched away at Kozlov for a bit and hit a flying cross body on him, before yanking the top rope down for Kozlov to fall out. As Kozlov got back on the apron, Christian had tagged in and ran over to dropkick him off. ECW went to commercial with Regal outside defending Kozlov from a Christian jump off the corner.
ECW returned with Regal locking in a headlock on Dreamer in the ring. Dreamer stood up to fight but Regal kneed him and continued to unload on Dreamer. With the ref distracted by Regal, Kozlov got in a few cheap shots on Dreamer from the apron. Kozlov tagged in to hit repeated elbow drops on Dreamer. Dreamer finally fought back when Regal had tagged in again, and he was able to leap over to tag Christian. Christian came in with a flurry of punches on Regal to drop him to the mat. After a failed pinfall on Regal, Christian rushed over to shove Kozlov off the apron. Christian hit a Sunset Flip on Regal but couldn't score the pinfall. Regal jumped out of the ring and yanked Christian's arm against the top rope. Kozlov came back in to whip Christian corner to corner, focusing on the left arm of Christian. Regal and Kozlov took turns working on Christian's injury to keep him away from a tag. At one point, Regal and Christian collided head to head and both men hit the mat. Eventually they both were able to make tags.
Dreamer came in to face Kozlov, and kept coming off the ropes with clotheslines but couldn't bring Kozlov down. Dreamer finally connected on a clothesline off the corner to level him. Regal came into the ring to break up Dreamer's pin, and Christian took him to the outside. Dreamer set up for the DDT on Kozlov, but Kozlov countered to get out. Dreamer hit a neckbreaker but failed to score the pinfall. Meanwhile, Regal threw Christian into the steel steps and got back on the apron, then slapped Kozlov's back to tag in. Kozlov turned and glared at Regal, and Dreamer clotheslined Kozlov out of the ring. Regal was able to knock Dreamer down and prepared to kick him. As Regal backed up he got right near Kozlov who slapped his back to tag in. Kozlov came in, grabbed Dreamer and slammed him down hard for the pinfall win. Regal seemed upset at first over Kozlov getting the win, but then shook his hand and celebrated the win suspiciously with Kozlov in the ring.

Wrestlers upset over Vickie Guerrero's salary
The word going around the WWE locker room is that Vickie Guerrero was only being paid $500 per appearance, and on top of that she had to cover her own hotel expenses. There are some wrestlers who are understandably fired up over the rumor, feeling that the company could have done more to take care of the now-former RAW and SmackDown general manager.
Although, it is worth noting that WWE paid for Eddie Guerrero’s funeral, and friends suspect they did more to help out the family. So while the $500 per appearance rate looks horrible on the surface, the company may have quietly done more for Vickie and her children than the locker room is aware of.

Before selling WWE Raw back to Mr. McMahon at double the original buy price, Donald Trump made sure to orchestrate a major superstar trade between the three shows. Only months after the WWE draft; Smackdown, Raw and ECW all traded for 5 new superstars. Here is a breakdown of what superstars ended up where.
To the Raw roster:
Gail Kim
Alicia Fox
Jack Swagger
Evan Bourne
Mark Henry
To the SmackDown roster:
Matt Hardy
Finlay
The Hart Dynasty - David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd & Natalya
To the ECW roster:
Shelton Benjamin
Goldust
William Regal
Brie & Nikki Bella
With Goldust move to ECW, he leaves Hornswoggle. Matt Hardy returns to Smackdown with his brother Jeff, we'll see what happens there. Overall I think Raw did the best adding two beautiful Divas, getting Swagger, the high flying Bourne and the powerful Mark Henry.

GE and WWE in Violation of Securities Law?
What started out as a typical wrestling publicity joke could have serious implications for two companies.
World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE: 12.43, -0.4, -3.12%) and General Electric Company (GE: 12.09, 0.1, 0.83%) could be liable for a violation of securities law, after GE-owned USA Network issued a fake press release that may have caused shares of WWE to fall 6%, Tuesday afternoon.
The release announced the sale of WWE’s popular Monday Night RAW wrestling show, which airs on the USA Network, to billionaire investor Donald Trump. The details of the sale were not provided and the release claimed, “the terms of the deal were not disclosed.” However, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was quoted as stating, “this was an offer I couldn’t refuse.”
In the release, Trump revealed that in his first act as new owner, he planned to air the show live and commercial free on Monday, June 22, and he would be making a live appearance on the program as the new owner.
The release was distributed by the GE-owned USA Network via PR Newswire, a business and corporate-relations newswire service. Upon circulation of the release, shares of WWE, a publicly traded company, fell more than 7%, to $12.18 per share, after opening at $13.13, Tuesday morning.
But the sale of the franchise to Donald Trump never actually happened. Two days later came a second announcement, saying the original release “referred to Monday Night RAW’s storyline of a ‘sale’ of WWE’s RAW to Donald Trump.” However, the release said, the companies “intended the release to be promotional for that ongoing story arc on the series. There is no such actual 'sale.' We apologize for any confusion.”
Meissner agrees there is not much risk of an SEC investigation, since it doesn’t appear the company intended to manipulate the stock price, but Randy Katz a securities lawyer with Baker & Hostetler LLP in Orange County, Calif., thinks the SEC might consider opening an investigation.
"It certainly is a possibility," Katz said. "The world today versus a couple of years ago has less tolerance for these types of issues. Theres a greater likelihood today, than if this happened a few years ago."
Both attorneys think WWE investors that sold the stock at a loss could have legal grounds to collect damages, potentially from both WWE and GE, since USA Network issued the release, but he couldn’t think of any legal precedent that could be used.
“Off top of my head, this is a unique set of facts,” Meissner said. “It sounds like poor judgment on their part for them to do this—for either company of that size to undertake something like this…it seems silly.”

WWE Releases Diva Candice Michelle and Sim Snuka
WWE recently released yet another member of its talent, but this time around it was one of its loveliest veteran WWE Divas - Candice Michelle. On Friday June 19, 2009, WWE officially came to terms with the release of Candice Michelle, former WWE Womens Champion.
WWE released the following announcement:
World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of SmackDown Superstar Candice Michelle as of today, June 19, 2009. WWE wishes Candice the best in all future endeavors.
It was speculated that this would be happening to Candice soon especially after the releases of Mr. Kennedy and Umaga.
Candice hadn't seen much wrestling since sustaining an injury on WWE Raw. She was moved to the Smackdown roster during WWE's 2009 Supplemental draft, but never saw much, if any action on the show. Candice had notable feuds with the likes of Torrie Wilson and Melina, and also was one of several divas to appear nude in Playboy magazine.
Candice uses Twiter and back on June 3rd mentioned she was planning to return to the ring. Her latest update says "I'm free to grow!" which may be in reference to her release from WWE.
Will TNA recruit yet another WWE Diva to its ranks, just like Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria)? Somehow I have a feeling that every time the WWE releases one of their talents that TNA is smiling.
The WWE also released Sim Snuka, formerly known as Deuce of the former tag team champions Deuce and Domino.
Snuka had also been part of the Raw storyline when Randy Orton was forming the Legacy stable, yet Snuka and Manu were ousted from the group and received a beatdown from Rhodes, Dibiase and Orton. That was about the last that was seen of Snuka.

Umaga released by WWE
Just recently a surprise move came when the WWE released returning superstar, Mr. Kennedy from its roster in the same week he returned to Raw. No real reason was given but gossip and rumors seemed to indicate Kennedy was in hot water with Randy Orton, and even worse with Vince McMahon.
Now the WWE has surprisingly released another if its talents, the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga (Eddie Fatu).
The WWE has always been bizarre but these lack of explanations not only hurt the product but the fans. Umaga was just recently in a Samoan Strap match with CM Punk at Extreme Rules, which Umaga lost. There was no serious injury and now no explanation for another superstar's release. It can always be speculated that Umaga was released for drug violations, as he was part of a massive suspension by WWE years back. He was listed in the articles by Sports Illustrated and Washington Post as one of several WWE stars to have purchased pharmaceuticals from an online pharmacy, violating the Wellness program policies.
Umaga has definitely made for one of the more entertaining and savage characters in recent WWE history, a throwback to the Wild Samoans, Kamala and the Headshrinkers. He was part of an interesting feud with CM Punk on Smackdown where he kept preventing Punk from capturing the World Heavyweight Title. Punk finally got the Bulldozer off his back so to speak, and now he really won't have to worry about Umaga standing in his way again. It's a shame to see this guy gone, and now we're most likely to see not only Mr. Kennedy but also Umaga wrestling in that six-sided ring on TNA.

Before the match, Natalya said Tyson Kidd and DH Smith will be facing two former ECW champions, but these guys will be future champions. Swagger tried to start the match off, but as the bell rang Christian slapped his back and went in instead. DH Smith came in and took control with his strength against Christian, ramming him down off the ropes with a shoulder block.
Kidd tagged in next and continued to work on Christian. Christian soon gained momentum and dropkicked Kidd from off the corner. Christian and Swagger got into a verbal discussion and Swagger shoved Christian right to Kidd. Kidd and Smith gained control as ECW went to commercial.
The Hart Dynasty stayed in control as they beat on Christian with Swagger watching from the other side. Christian tried to use a flying headbutt off the ropes but Kidd moved away and hit a snap suplex on Christian. Kidd went to the ropes and tried a Moonsault with Christian avoiding it. Christian staggered over towards Swagger as Kidd tagged in Smith. Swagger put his hand out to tag Christian and as he swiped at Christian's hand, Christian pulled his away then slapped Swagger in the face, knocking him off the apron. Christian gained momentum as he attempted to pin Smith several times from there. Christian missed on a headbutt off the corner again and Kidd tagged in.
Christian tried for the Killswitch several times but with no success. At one point Christian managed to flip over Tyson Kidd but he fell towards Swagger. Swagger grabbed Christian and yanked him down across the ropes. Christian was stunned and Kidd tagged in Smith. Smith grabbed Christian in a Bear Hug and Kidd ran off the ropes to clothesline him with the Hart Attack. Smith took the winning pin.
After the match, Swagger, Kidd and Smith all began to attack Christian. Suddenly, Tommy Dreamer came charging down the ramp with a Kendo Stick in hand. Dreamer got in the ring and began smashing the stick on Swagger's back until eventually he cleared the ring. ECW ended with Dreamer raising his arms with the kendo stick as Christian recovered in the corner.
