ECW Results 09-22-09

As ECW opened, Josh Matthews and Matt Striker said there was a championship atmosphere in the air, since tonight #1 Contender Zack Ryder goes after Christian and the ECW Title.

Tony Atlas introduced Abraham Washington to the top stage area for his talk show. Washington's guest on the show was the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus. Washington made comments about how Sheamus is so white and pale, putting on a pair of sunglasses. Sheamus took exception to this, then said he felt like he was on the set of "Sanford & Son". Sheamus talked about putting in all the hard work for his recent tag match, but Shelton Benjamin came in to steal the win. Sheamus said since Shelton took something from him, so he took something from Shelton. Abraham introduced Shelton Benjamin to the show to give his comments.

Shelton said he was surprised Abraham Washington wasn't canceled yet. Shelton told Sheamus there's a concept of team in America, so they both win if one wins. Sheamus told him about the Celtic code of honor, but said in America they steal and cheat. Shelton said he did some research on Sheamus' family history, then had a graphic show on the big screen of various redheaded characters like Pipi Longstocking, Ronald McDonald, and Carrot Top, indicating they were all related. Sheamus got in Shelton's face, so Shelton dared him to go for it. Shelton became distracted briefly, so Sheamus pounced on him. The two rolled over the couch punching on each other, until finally several WWE personnel came out to pull them apart.

Yoshi Tatsu was shown walking backstage on his way out for the next match.

Yoshi Tatsu vs. Paul Burchill

Burchill came to the ring with his sister Katie Lea. Footage was shown of Burchill assaulting Hurricane last week, right after Hurricane lost a match to William Regal.

Late in the match, Burchill was in control as he smashed Tatsu face first to the turnbuckle then climbed up the corner. Yoshi got up to fight him, but Burchill punched him down. Burchill then jumped from the corner to smash his knee into Tatsu on the mat. Burchill went for the pin with Yoshi surprisingly able to kick out of it. Burchill picked up Yoshi for a slam move, with Yoshi sliding off his back. Yoshi shoved Burchill to the corner hard and as he stumbled back, Yoshi delivered his famous roundhouse kick to Burchill's head. Yoshi Tatsu wins via pinfall over Paul Burchill.

Footage was shown from last week's 10 person Battle Royal to determine #1 Contender for the ECW Title. Zack Ryder won it after dumping Tommy Dreamer out last minute.

Backstage, Savannah interviewed Zack Ryder about being #1 Contender. Ryder said he doesn't squander opportunities and after tonight he'll be called the ECW Champion, you know it.

Backstage, Paul Burchill was upset over his loss and looking around for Hurricane. Katie Lea tried to stop him but he went on without her. Gregory Helms came up and touched Katie on the arm to ask her some questions. Katie told him it's all his fault Paul is like this. As Helms was standing there, Burchill attacked from behind, knocking him down and punching away. He told Katie Lea to stay away from Helms and that he's not done with Helms by a longshot.

Dustin Brady & Brandon Young vs. Ezekiel Jackson & Vladimir Kozlov

Kozlov & Jackson came to the ring lead by William Regal. Early on, Young tried for an attack on Kozlov who shoved him against the ropes then hit him down with a battering ram move. Jackson came in and started to hammer away on the back of Young, before throwing him hard into the corner ringpost. His partner made a bold tag to get in, but Jackson grabbed him and tossed him over the ropes into the ring. Jackson continued to manhandle Brady, shoving him hard into the corner, then bringing in Kozlov. Jackson came back in again and delivered a vicious standing clothesline to level Brady, then used his one arm slam finisher to win it. Young got back in the ring to check on his partner, but was grabbed by Kozlov who hit his one-armed slam move on him. Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson win via pinfall over Dustin Brady & Brandon Young.

When ECW returned, Matthews and Striker discussed John Cena having to face the Gauntlet on next week's episode of Raw. They hyped up Hell in a Cell, listing the various matches including DX vs. Legacy, John Cena vs. Orton, both Hell in a Cell matches.

Backstage, Regal was walking with Kozlov and Jackson as they came up to Goldust. Regal told Goldust they have a match Thursday on WWE Superstars. Goldust said he was looking forward to it, and Regal said he wasn't because it's a joke, just like tonight's ECW Title Match, and just like Goldust. Goldust got in his face, but Jackson and Kozlov stepped up as bodyguards. Regal said on Thursday he's going to give a display as to why he should be competing for the ECW Title.

The Smackdown Rebound covered GM Teddy Long admitting what he did at Breaking Point by screwing Undertaker out of the title win. On Smackdown Long tried to send an apology out to the WWE fans and Undertaker. Long had a team of security personnel with him as he went back to get into his limo. He told the driver he was ready to go several times, and then the passenger/driver window barrier rolled down revealing his driver was the Undertaker. The backseat area filled with smoke as Teddy yelled for someone to help him, and the limo drove off.

Christian was shown backstage with his ECW Championship belt in hand walking on his way out for the main event.

Zack Ryder vs. Christian (ECW Title Match)

Ryder went for an early pinfall after knocking Christian down, but got no count. Ryder and Christian started to trade punches, until Ryder knocked Christian down again near the ropes. He tried to whip Christian to the ropes, but Christian reversed and eventually turned it into a headscissors to toss Ryder. From there Christian tossed his opponent to the outside and was about to dive out, but Ryder was up quick to avoid it. Christian got on the apron with Ryder trying to swipe his leg, but Christian hopped over him, then kicked Ryder, following up with a running baseball slide dropkick. Christian waited for Ryder to stand then did a leaping move from off the corner to crash onto Ryder outside.

Striker noted that no major singles title has ever been won in this particular arena, so Ryder will have to rewrite history. Christian attempted a pinfall with the ref counting just 1. Christian continued controlling things but as he sat on the corner, Ryder yanked his leg out to the mat. Ryder went for a pinfall but Christian barely escaped it. Ryder cockily motioned that he was close to winning, just as ECW went to break.

When ECW returned, Christian had control but as he came off the ropes Ryder tossed him in the air. Ryder with several pinfall attempts to no avail. Christian hit the Sunset Flip springboard off the corner but only scored a 2 count. Ryder crawled out to the apron and Christian came out to fight. Ryder punched him off, sending Christian into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Christian started to fight back until Ryder kneed him in the gut, then dropped him crotch first onto the top rope. Ryder went for several pinfalls but couldn't get the 3. Ryder with a legscissor to squeeze Christian's midsection. Ryder jumped off the corner at Christian, but Christian caught him and hit a flapjack.

The action became frantic in the closing minutes including Christian going for a Sunset Flip, but Ryder rolling through to hold Christian down for a near pinfall. Christian missed on a flying crossbody. Both men countered each other's moves. Ryder went for a pinfall using the ropes for leverage with Christian able to kick out. Christian managed to regain control of things as he did a slingshot of Ryder into the corner turnbuckle, then flew off the corner with a European uppercut. Christian quickly hit the Killswitch for the pinfall victory in a tough match. Christian wins via pinfall over Zack Ryder to retain the ECW Title.

William Regal came out to interrupt Christian's victory celebration. Regal said since this farce is over with, now he'll become #1 Contender again and it won't be long until he is ECW Champion. Christian knocked the mic out of Regal's hand and started to punch away on him. Regal rolled out of the ring and began backing up the ramp. Christian held up his championship belt to close the show.

Raw Results 09-21-09

A black limo pulled up into the back parking garage of the arena. Out stepped the Bella Twins, and then guest host Cedric the Entertainer along with his crew including Smooth, and Cool Jimmy Johnson. From there, more people kept emerging from the limo just like a circus clown car. Several football players with their coach, a rabbi, an elderly woman, and a farmer with a goat also came out of the limo, before Cedric walked off with The Bella Twins.

After the pyro went off, Lawler and Cole hyped up their guest host, Cedric the Entertainer, right before D-Generation X's entrance started up. Triple H mentioned the upcoming Hell in a Cell, and then Michaels reminded fans he competed in and won the first ever Hell in a Cell match. Triple H reminded fans he has competed in the most Hell in a Cell matches, five. They mentioned that Legacy has never ever competed in this type of match before. HHH said Legacy will get the beatings of their lives in 2 weeks at the PPV when this whole feud comes to an end.

Triple H vs. Cody Rhodes

Dibiase provided an early distraction from the apron allowing Rhodes to start hammering away on HHH in the corner. HHH soon recovered to fight back, but Rhodes was able to boot him down from the corner. Rhodes charged at HHH in the corner, with HHH moving away and sending Rhodes shoulder first to the post, three times in a row. Triple H locked a Crossface on Cody, with Rhodes able to inch over to put his foot on the ropes to escape it. Rhodes rolled to the outside near Michaels, so Dibiase ran over to defend his partner. HHH landed a slide dropkick into Rhodes' back to send both men down before commercial.

After commercial, Rhodes had control using a submission hold to wear down HHH. The ref became distracted by Rhodes, allowing Dibiase to throw a punch at HHH from outside the ring. Rhodes kept throwing offense at HHH including a moonsault off the ropes. Rhodes taunted Michaels, allowing HHH time to recover. Back on his feet, HHH started to attack. Rhodes ran at HHH near the ropes, and HHH tossed him over the ropes. Rhodes got up and slapped Michaels in the face, so HBK started to chase him. As Michaels came around the side, Dibiase tried to ambush him but Michaels ducked the clothesline and came back to punch him. However, Legacy was able to doubleteam Michaels on the outside and KO'd him.

Rhodes got back in the ring, but HHH gained control. HHH set the Pedigree up, but Dibiase rushed in and smashed a steel chair on HHH's back and skull. Rhodes hit the Cross Rhodes on HHH, then Dibiase hit Dream Street. They set up a chair on HHHH's throat and prepared a move, but Michaels was back up. He grabbed the sledgehammer from under the ring and rushed in chasing off Legacy. Triple H wins due to disqualification over Cody Rhodes when Ted Dibiase interfered.

Cole said later tonight Kofi Kingston defends the United States Championship against Jack Swagger. Also, John Cena and Randy Orton sign their contract for their WWE Title Hell in a Cell Match. Next, Cedric the Entertainer will be live.

Lillian Garcia introduced tonight's guest host Cedric the Entertainer. Ced came out with The Bella Twins dancing. Cedric told the fans he's a real WWE fan so that's why he'll make a great host tonight. He launched into some stand up comedy including a funny bit about second and third generation superstars, showing images on the titantron of Big Show as the illegitimate son of Andre the Giant & King Kong Bundy, Mark Henry as the son of the Kool Aid Man, and The Miz as the son of a Jackass. Cedric prepared to start things off, but Santino Marella's music hit.

Santino came out saying he's a big fan of "Frederick the Entertainer", then held a copy of the new All-Star Comedy Jam DVD that Cedric's in. Santino said he wants to be a standup comic, so Cedric said he'd intro him to the crowd right now to do some jokes. Santino tried one joke and bombed, so Cedric interrupted and said "let me just say Beyonce had the best video of all time!" Cedric tried to get the show started yet again, but this time Chavo Guerrero interrupted.

Cedric said Chavo is hilarious because he lets a leprechaun beat him up weekly. Chavo said Hornswoggle's not the problem, its the [unk celebrity guest hosts who arrange the matches. Cedric reminded Chavo that last week Bob Barker karate chopped him. Chavo then challenged Cedric to a match tonight. Cedric tried to back out of it and recommended people go to "foolbattle.com" to vote on his movie debate. Santino stopped in and accepted on behalf of Cedric for the match.

Michael Cole and Lawler revisited footage of the tag match last week where The Miz stole Kofi's United States title belt from ringside. Josh Matthews interviewed The Miz backstage who still had the US Title. Miz said he only took what's going to be his eventually. Miz said the US Champion should be from the US. Miz started insulting Kofi, but just then Kingston rushed in and smashed Miz down from behind. With Miz down, Kofi grabbed his championship belt, said what's up to Matthews and left the scene.

Evan Bourne vs. The Miz

Bourne exploded with some early offense, until Miz dumped him onto the top rope, hurting his leg. From there, Miz with a running kick to Bourne's head and then a submission hold. Bourne got to his feet to kick back, but Miz kicked him back down. Miz missed on a clothesline with Bourne able to roll him up. Miz escaped to take Bourne down yet again for a near pinfall. Miz soon went back to his submission hold, holding Bourne's arms back while sitting on his back.

Miz pulled Bourne over on the apron then delivered a running knee into Bourne's head. Bourne kept fighting back, and Miz returned to the submission. Bourne got to his feet and was able to run with Miz into the corner. Miz again came back and hit his running clothesline hard on Bourne in the corner. Miz went up on the turnbuckle, with Bourne running over to take his footing out. With Miz seated on the corner, Bourne did a Hurricanrana to throw Miz down to the mat. Bourne climbed the corner and went for a Shooting Starpress, but Miz rolled out of the way. Bourne landed on his feet, stumbling a bit, so Miz grabbed him and hit the Skull Crushing Finale. The Miz wins via pinfall over Evan Bourne.

Backstage in the locker room, Orton came up to Legacy. Orton said originally he wanted them to be with him for the contract signing but he can tell they're close to ending DX forever. Orton told Ted and Cody to take the night off because he can handle the contract signing on his own.

The Official Hell in a Cell theme song is "Monster" by the band Skillet, available now on the album "Awake".

Jerry Lawler served as mediator for the WWE Title Hell in a Cell Contract signing. Lawler discussed their match then introduced the former champ Orton first. Footage was shown from last week's match between Orton and Batista. Orton tried to head up the ramp, but John Cena emerged from backstage to knock Orton down and then toss him into the ring for Batista. Cena was introduced next to the roar of the Arkansas crowd. Both men took a seat at the table. Lawler reminded them there's a "no physicality" rule in effect tonight. Lawler said Trish Stratus said that Orton could have his rematch at Hell in a Cell or he can give up his right to a rematch. Lawler handed Orton the contract and Orton signed off. Orton told Lawler to get out of the ring. As Cena started to read the contract over, Orton began to trash talk him on the mic.

Orton stood up and told Cena he's more dangerous than ever before, and Cena's never been in Hell in a Cell before. Orton said he has and knows what it takes to win. Orton promised Cena would never be the same after the match. Cena stood up, tossed his hat into the crowd, then said he really wasn't listening. Cena had footage rolled of Orton saying "I Quit, I Quit" over and over from Breaking Point. Cena said Orton's put him through more than any other superstar has, but Cena's still survived. Cena said he doesn't feel threatened by Orton saying he's never been in this type of match. Cena said if Orton doesn't win at Hell in a Cell he gets no more chances at the title. Cena said at Hell in a Cell when they lock the door, he'll destroy Randy Orton. Orton said he wants nothing more than to RKO Cena through the title, but legally he can't. Orton said Cena's arrogance has made him despised since coming into the WWE, so he found a few wrestlers who would gladly come make Cena's life hell tonight.

Jericho and Big Show arrived out from backstage and came to the ring. Show dumped the table out of the ring and Cena rushed at him to try to attack. Jericho and Show began to doubleteam, kicking Cena down. MVP and Mark Henry came rushing down to the ring to make a save. As they cleared the ring, Cedric the Entertainer appeared on the big screen. He said they made things easy on him, because tonight they'll all compete against each other.

WWE Slam of the Week showed the outcome of last week's Alicia Fox versus Gail Kim match to become the #1 Contender for the Divas Championship. Alicia won it with a kick to the back of Gail's head.

Alicia Fox was introduced, sitting ringside to watch Mickie James in action.

Mickie James vs. Beth Phoenix

Early in the match, Mickie knocked Beth to the outside, then climbed the corner. Mickie jumped out onto Beth to start attacking her right near Alicia Fox. Fox stood up and glared at Mickie who took a swing at her. Alicia ducked, and that allowed Beth to grab her and ram her into the ringpost before tossing Mickie back in the ring. Beth with her finisher quickly on Mickie to win the match.

Alicia Fox picked up the Divas Championship belt and got into the ring. Alicia watched Mickie get to her feet, then did her scissors kick to the back of Mickie's head. Alicia layed the belt down near Mickie James on the mat after posing. Beth Phoenix wins via pinfall over Mickie James.

Cole reminded fans of the upcoming matches, the six man tag match and then Cedric versus Chavo.

Jack Swagger vs. Kofi Kingston (United States Title Match)

Early in the match, Swagger caught Kingston from a move and set him on the corner. Kingston kicked him and tried for a DDT from the ropes but Swagger threw him across the ring. Just then, Miz came running down and grabbed the US Title again. Miz started to walk up the ramp with the belt. Swagger saw him, rushed out of the ring and leveled Miz on the ramp. Swagger picked up the belt for himself and walked backstage with it. Kofi Kingston recovered in the ring to see Swagger up on the ramp with the title while Miz was down on the ramp. Kofi Kingston wins due to countout of Jack Swagger to retain the United States Championship.

Cedric the Entertainer vs. Chavo Guerrero

Lillian introduced special guest referee Santino Marella who came out wearing the striped shirt. Cedric was introduced and came out wearing a cape along with some throwback wrestling tights. Before the bell Cedric put on a Luchador style mask, then put his hat back on. Chavo pulled off Cedric's hat then stomped on it. Angrily, Cedric slid out of the ring then crawled under the ring. Chavo acted like he was wise to his tricks and went out to the opposite side of the ring to wait for him to come out. To Chavo's surprise though a much bigger opponent came out from under the ring wearing the same attire (mask, cape, gear) as Cedric. Chavo started to hug the guy acting like his friend then slapped him and tried to run. The new wrestler grabbed Chavo, pressed him overhead then tossed him back in the ring through the ropes. In the ring he dismantled Chavo with power moves including a hard clothesline. Soon the mystery wrestler slipped to the outside and crawled under the ring.

Next, Hornswoggle came out to the ring dressed in the same gear as Ced and the mystery wrestler. Hornswoggle hit a Tadpole Frogsplash off the corner on Chavo, then quickly scurried outside the ring. Chavo was down and out. Hornswoggle crawled under the ring and Cedric the Entertainer came back out, got in the ring and took the pin to go 1-0 in his WWE career.

Post-match, all three wrestlers, Cedric, Horney and mystery man danced for the crowd in the ring. Cedric the Entertainer wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

When Raw returned Cole and Lawler announced next week's host is Reverend Al Sharpton, political activist and former presidential candidate. They ran down the updated lineup of Hell in a Cell matches which included the new US Championship match of Kofi Kingston defending in a Triple Threat against Miz and Swagger.

Backstage, Cedric was talking up his win over Chavo to Kelly Kelly, then tried to run some game on her about them both being champions that need to be together. Chris Jericho was there to interrupt saying they needed to talk. Ced told him that's great but right now he's talking to Kelly. He kept going on, but then Big Show was behind him and said they need to talk.

The cameras cut back to the arena with Jerry Lawler standing up for a special announcement. Lawler told the fans tonight will be announcer/diva Lillian Garcia's last night with WWE. With tears in her eyes, Lillian made a speech to talk about how great an honor it has been to be part of WWE history. Lillian said she's going to miss WWE so much but her heart will remain in the WWE ring after her departure. More on this story: Lillian Garcia leaving WWE.

Mark Henry, MVP & John Cena vs. Chris Jericho, Big Show & Randy Orton

The heels stood in the ring with Jericho and Show holding mics. Jericho informed Orton they went to talk to Cedric the Entertainer to raise the stacks for the match tonight. He said that if they lose, Orton has to compete in a Gauntlet match next week against Cena, MVP and Henry. Orton was livid, until Show told him to calm down because if they win, Cena must face Jericho, Show and Orton in a Gauntlet match next week. Orton seemed ok with the stipulation, and then Cena was introduced.

Raw returned with Henry and MVP in the ring, no intros. Early in the match, Orton made a blind tag on Jericho's back and came in after Cena. Cena grabbed Orton and hoisted him up for the Attitude Adjustment, but Orton quickly slid off his back and out of the ring. Cena gave chase, with Big Show cutting him off. With Cena staring at Show, Jericho came from behind to smash Cena into the barricade. Orton took control on Cena after Jericho's interference. Orton dismantled Cena bit by bit then tagged in Big Show to continue things. Jericho was in again to kick away on Cena and manhandle him some more. When Orton came in again, Cena grabbed him for the belly-to-belly suplex leaving both men down. Orton and Cena jumped over to make tags with MVP and Jericho getting in.

MVP with the fastpaced offense including a facebuster and then a Ballin' Elbow on Jericho. Jericho kicked out at two. The ref became distracted by Orton, as MVP tried for his finisher on Jericho. Show grabbed MVP from nearby and delivered a massive headbutt to drop him. Show tagged in to start abusing MVP, giving Orton something to work with as he came in. MVP tried to build up some momentum, with Orton tripping him down before he could tag. Jericho came in to start cockily taunting MVP then put a knee to his back on the ropes. Jericho turned and tried to run from the ropes to jump on MVP, with Porter moving causing Jericho to go crotch-first onto the middle rope.

MVP started to battle back more against Randy Orton kicking him as Orton put his head down for a move. MVP turned to try to tag, but Orton shoved him through the ropes. Henry managed to slap MVP as he was going through the ropes for a tag, then grabbed Orton and delivered a headbutt. Henry came into the ring on fire, knocking Show off the apron and tossing Jericho into the ring with him and Orton. Henry knocked Orton down again. Show got into the ring with Cena rushing in to grab him, put him on his shoulders and dump him over the ropes out of the ring. Meanwhile, the ref was distracted as Henry had Orton up for a World's Strongest Slam. Jericho rushed over and chop blocked Henry's leg to cause him to lose his footing and drop Orton. Next, Jericho rushed over to knock Cena off the apron. Orton saw Henry hunched over trying to recover, so he hit the RKO on him for the win. Randy Orton, Chris Jericho and Big Show win via pinfall over John Cena, MVP and Mark Henry.

The heels celebrated on the ramp as Cena looked dejected in the ring knowing that next week he has to face a gauntlet match of Orton, Jericho and Show.

ECW Results 09-15-09

At the start of the show, highlights were shown from this Sunday's Breaking Point Pay-Per-View. William Regal had Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson with him at the start of things, but it was ordered that the two beasts had to leave ringside. Regal and Christian battled it out over the ECW title with Regal getting several near pinfalls. He missed on the running knee kick which allowed Christian to hit the Killswitch and retain the title.

ECW's General Manager Tiffany arrived out to the ring to start off the show. Tiffany began saying how proud she was of the ECW title match at Breaking Point, but was soon interrupted by Regal and his henchmen. Regal told Tiffany she looked exceptionally beautiful tonight, and feels she is doing a wonderful job as GM. Regal said as a former longtime GM, he wanted to discuss this past Sunday's match. Regal asked Tiffany why she felt the need to ban Jackson and Kozlov from ringside at Breaking Point. Tiffany said she made the decision because she wanted a one-on-one match with no interference. Regal said it's only right that Tiffany grant him another title shot. Tiffany said she made the decision not to allow Regal another title shot, but there would be a battle royal later tonight.

Regal, Kozlov and Jackson started to leave the ring, but Tiffany told Regal to stay back. She said he wasn't getting another title shot, but he would be in action right now. The Hurricane's music and entrance came on, as Hurricane arrived out for the match.

The Hurricane vs. William Regal

The match was joined in progress with Hurricane taking it to Regal. Regal was not dressed for the match and was in his suit and dress shoes still. Regal started a comeback but it was brief as Hurricane flew at him with a high crossbody. After a neckbreaker, Hurricane flew off the corner with a crossbody onto Regal but only got the 2 count. Regal left the ring to start up the ramp, but Hurricane ran out and attacked, then grabbed him to bring back to the ring. As Hurricane was getting back in the ring, Regal caught him with the running knee. Regal went for a pin, but Hurricane's leg was under the ropes. The ref yelled it and Regal pulled the leg in to secure the pin.

After the win, Regal backed up the ramp looking unhappy at what just went down for him. Hurricane got up near the ropes looking out at Regal, just as Paul Burchill slid in behind him. Burchill with the attack from behind and then his finisher Dangerous Buster suplex. William Regal wins via pinfall over The Hurricane.

Goldust apologized to Yoshi Tatsu in a locker room for what happened in their match last week. Yoshi seemed to forgive then said "English please". Goldust said they could continue their English lesson. After one phrase Goldust did his stuttering and Yoshi repeated it exactly like that. Just then, Zack Ryder entered the scene and joked about one scholar teaching another. Goldust told Yoshi to say "Loser" like he taught him, and Yoshi looked at Zack then said "Zack Ryder". Ryder became upset and challenged Yoshi to a match.

When ECW returned, Matthews and Striker made the announcement that Batista returns to Smackdown on Friday. A replay was shown of Burchill attacking The Hurricane in the ring, using the Dangerous Buster on him. Burchill was shown walking backstage smiling about what he did. New ECW interviewer Savannah caught up with him to ask for his explanation. Burchill mockingly asked where Gregory Helms was, then said "oh yeah in the ring where I left him". Burchill said he got what he deserves for what happened to Katie Lea last week. Burchill said he won't stop until he has exposed and eliminated Helms, then said he had to go get ready for the Battle Royal.

The Bella Twins arrived out in red dresses to serve as special guest ring announcers.

Yoshi Tatsu vs. Zack Ryder

Ryder had control with the early armbar submission to wrench Tatsu's arm. Yoshi started to flip around and was able to counter the move to put on his own submission arm hold. Yoshi had a near pinfall with Ryder escaping. Yoshi whipped Ryder to the ropes, but Ryder avoided his charge. As Yoshi jumped onto the corner, Ryder kicked his footing out. Ryder used a hard kick to Yoshi's head then tried several pinfalls, followed by a headlock on the mat.

Ryder continued with more hold to wear Yoshi down on the mat. Yoshi fought to his feet as the crowd rallied behind him, but Zack slammed him back down. Yoshi finally was able to hit a running elbow on Ryder to gain some momentum. Yoshi with the double running knee into Ryder in the corner, then he attempted the running bulldog flip. Ryder shoved him away and climbed on the corner, with Yoshi going up after him to land a headscissors. Yoshi couldn't grab the pinfall though as Ryder kicked out. Ryder with a flying leg lariat but couldn't finish off Yoshi. He went for a backflip of Yoshi, with Yoshi flipping over onto his feet, then connecting on a roundhouse kick to KO Ryder. Yoshi Tatsu wins via pinfall over Zack Ryder.

Josh Matthews and Matt Striker discussed the fallout from Breaking Point, and lead in to the two matches announced so far for Hell in a Cell. John Cena defends the WWE Title against Randy Orton and DX battles Legacy, with both matches being Hell in a Cell format.

10 Man Battle Royal for #1 ECW Title Contender

Participating in the Battle Royal were Shelton Benjamin, Vladimir Kozlov, Ezekiel Jackson, Tommy Dreamer, Goldust, Tyler Reks, Sheamus, Yoshi Tatsu, Paul Burchill and Zack Ryder.

Matt Striker picked Sheamus first to win it, then suggested Kozlov, Jackson, Tatsu or Ryder could win. Shelton with an early suplex on Burchill to throw him over the ropes for the 1st elimination. Vlad Kozlov kept working to wear down Goldust, while Jackson went after Dreamer. Dreamer fell onto the apron and slid back into the ring. Multiple wrestlers tried to work on both Jackson and Kozlov to eliminate them. Jackson tossed Shelton over but he held onto the ropes and slid in under the bottom rope. As several wrestlers were down or recovering, Jackson and Kozlov bumped into each other and a stare off went down center ring. ECW went to commercial break.

ECW returned to show that Kozlov had eliminated Tyler Reks by throwing him over the top ropes. 8 men remained to battle it out. Jackson grabbed Yoshi Tatsu and tossed him over the ropes like a ragdoll for another elimination. Sheamus fought with Kozlov in the corner, headbutting him then trying to eliminate. Jackson tossed Goldust over the ropes, but Goldust barely held on. Jackson put a foot on Goldust's face but Dreamer ran over for the save.

Shelton Benjamin had an impressive run as he hit the Paydirt on Zack Ryder, then clotheslined Sheamus hard over the ropes to eliminate him. Jackson ran over and tossed Shelton out, with Shelton hanging on. Jackson turned to see him then went at him. Shelton with a headscissors to pull Jackson over the ropes, eliminating him next. Shelton hung on the side apron, but Sheamus rushed over to punch him down for another elimination. Sheamus and Shelton started to brawl on the outside with refs getting involved.

It was down to Ryder, Dreamer, Goldust and Kozlov. Dreamer and Goldust charged at their heel foes to attack. Kozlov took control against Dreamer, while Goldust and Ryder fought. The crowd seemed hot for Goldust as he had offensive momentum against Ryder. Goldust tossed Ryder over the ropes with Ryder hanging on. He came at him again, and Ryder still hung on despite a clothesline attempt. Finally Goldust charged at Ryder with Ryder dropping down and pulling the top rope, causing Goldust to spill out. The fans booed the loss.

Meanwhile, Kozlov manhandled Tommy Dreamer with a belly-to-belly. Kozlov picked up Dreamer on one shoulder and ran at the ropes to try to toss him, but Dreamer slid off and shoved Kozlov, eventually knocking him over the ropes. Zack Ryder quickly ran over, grabbed Dreamer and dumped him out to grab the victory. Zack Ryder wins the 10 Man Battle Royal to become #1 Contender for the ECW Title.

Raw Results 09-14-09

Raw opened with highlights from last night's WWE Title "I Quit" match at Breaking Point between Randy Orton and John Cena. Orton used handcuffs to restrain Cena against the ringpost and beat him unmercifully. However, Cena refused to quit, and managed to get the keys to the handcuffs so he could cuff he and Orton together. Cena used the STF submission and put the handcuff chain on Orton's neck to make him yell out "I Quit".

Lillian Garcia was in ring to start off Raw and asked the fans to welcome "The Animal" Batista back to Raw. Batista came out with a arm brace/sleeve on his left arm. Michael Cole said Batista has some "career-altering" info to discuss. Highlights were shown from 3 months ago when Orton and Legacy injured Batista's arm, including Orton snapping it. Cole said Batista suffered a torn left triceps. Batista started off thanking all the fans in the arena and all watching at home. Batista said this isn't how he wanted to come back, but he came back to say "goodbye". As Batista was continuing to discuss his retirement, he was suddenly interrupted by Randy Orton's theme musc. Orton made his way down the ramp to the ring.

Orton went into the corner of the ring and said he's not happy about losing the WWE Title last night. Orton said the fact Batista is retiring cheers him up though. Orton said nobody cares to hear Batista's retirement speech, then suggested Batista is retiring because of him, not due to his health. Batista started laughing and Orton became upset. Batista said it's funny how predictable Orton is, and then pulled off his arm brace, revealing he wasn't hurt. Batista proceeded to clothesline Orton down, then bodyslammed him, before clotheslining him out of the ring. Batista got back on the mic and said he wasn't there to announce retirement, but that he was going to Smackdown. Batista said he also spoke to tonight's guest host, and she booked him a "No Holds Barred" match tonight on Raw, against Orton.

Also tonight, Shawn Michaels faces Ted Dibiase in singles action. Batista was shown staring out of the ring up the ramp where Orton had stumbled backwards after hearing the announcement.

As Raw returned with a shot of Toronto, Lawler and Cole replayed the footage of what Batista just did in the ring to Randy Orton.

Lillian Garcia was back in the ring to introduce Raw diva of the decade and seven-time Womens champion, Trish Stratus. Trish came out sporting a new look, including brown hair. Trish said she thinks she'll make a good host tonight, and discussed how she knows the show. Trish said she decided that Orton will get his rematch against Cena at the next PPV in a "Hell in a Cell" match. Trish said the fans will see plenty of her tonight so it's time to launch into the first match. Kofi Kingston made his way out from backstage.

Primo & Kofi Kingston vs. Jack Swagger & The Miz

Highlights were shown from when these four clashed on WWE Superstars last week. Miz picked up the victory when he hit the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz earned a shot at the US Title at last night's PPV due to the win.

Late in the match, Kingston was able to do a unique DDT-style move on Swagger to take him down. Kofi sent Swagger into the corner. With Swagger in the corner, Kofi jumped up and went for 10 punches. Miz was over on the side area and took the United States Championship belt, causing Kingston to be distracted. Swagger took control from there as he picked up Kofi and threw him into the turnbuckle. From there, Swagger hit the Gutwrench Powerbomb for the pinfall victory. Miz walked up the ramp carrying the belt on his shoulder. Jack Swagger & The Miz win via pinfall over Kofi Kingston & Primo.

Raw returned with Michael Cole talking up last night's Pay-Per-View as being controversial. Lawler sent out thanks to Lynyrd Skynyrd for the song "Still Unbroken" the PPV theme song.

WWE Divas Champion Mickie James came down to ringside in street clothes to join Cole and Lawler on commentary.

Gail Kim vs. Alicia Fox (Match for #1 Contender Status)

The winner of this match would be #1 Contender for Mickie James' WWE Divas Championship. Mickie James discussed both women as top competitors who have had success against her in the past.

Alicia Fox took control in the match as she locked a leg scissors hold around Gail's torso in the ring. Gail elbowed her way out, but Alicia slammed her face first into the mat. Alicia shot a glare over towards Mickie then slammed Gail to the mat. Alicia went for her scissors kick, but Gail avoided and hit a neckbreaker. Gail gained momentum as she started to clothesline Alicia and then went at her in the corner. Gail with a reverse crossbody as she jumped off the middle ropes of the corner. Alicia tossed Gail to another corner then charged but Gail moved. Gail went to the corner for a jumping move, with Alicia moving out of the way. With Gail semi-stunned on the mat, Alicia recollected herself and ran over to deliver her kick to the back of Gail's head. Alicia Fox with the pinfall win then glared at Mickie James. Alicia Fox wins via pinfall over Gail Kim to become #1 Contender for the WWE Divas Championship.

As Raw returned, Cole and Lawler discussed the big match tonight involving Batista and Orton. Footage was replayed from when Orton first injured Batista on Raw with a vicious punt kick to his head in the ring.

Trish Stratus was backstage lighting relaxation candles in an office when Beth Phoenix came in. Beth confronted Trish for not putting her in the #1 Contenders Match earlier. Before Trish could explain, Chris Jericho was also there. Jericho started to insult Trish and said she's bitter from when he sent her packing. Beth suggested that Trish retired so she wouldn't have to face her, and then said at least Jericho has guts. Trish said she was going to face Jericho and Beth tonight, and would find herself a partner for the match tonight. Before leaving, Jericho told Trish he could take Bob Barker anytime anyplace.

Cole and Lawler talked over highlight slides from last night's "Submissions Count Anywhere" match at Breaking Point. DX and Legacy fought all over the arena and backstage. It came down to Legacy knocking out Triple H backstage, then making Michaels submit around the ringpost. Triple H couldn't get to the ring in time to make a save. Legacy was shown walking backstage all smiles.

Shawn Michaels vs. Ted Dibiase

Cody Rhodes accompanied Dibiase to the ring. The duo grabbed mics to speak before the match. Rhodes did a mock DX intro asking the fans "Are you ready?!", then discussed the dawning of a new era in WWE. Rhodes said they didn't just beat DX, they made them tap out. Rhodes said Rock, Stone Cold, Undertaker, Edge and even Orton never made DX tap out. Rhodes said only Legacy has. Dibiase then took over saying how last night's win was historic. Dibiase said last night was just the start, and they won't stop until DX is out of Raw and their lives forever. Rhodes said they will no longer be known as the sons of Dusty Rhodes and Million Dollar Man, because they are known as the Fathers of The Legacy.

Shawn Michaels and Triple H were shown watching the Legacy ring speech on a flat screen backstage. DX started on their way out for the match as Raw went to break. Triple H began to stalk Rhodes outside the ring as the bell sounded with Dibiase going at HBK in the corner. This would be HBK's first action in 6 months time. A brief "you screwed Bret" chant broke out in the crowd as Michael Cole reminded viewers Raw is the longest running weekly episodic on cable.

Late in the match, HBK started to build momentum in his favor, after two atomic drops, a flying forearm from the ropes and chest chops. Dibiase reverse-whipped Michaels to the ropes, and HBK flew back at him with another forearm. Michaels flipped up from the mat then pounced on Dibiase to punch away. HBK climbed the corner and hit an elbow drop on Dibiase. Michaels was still hurting from last night and from Dibiase's attack on his left eye in tonight's match. He stumbled to the corner and began to wind up the band for Sweet Chin Music. Before he could start towards Dibiase, Rhodes yanked Michaels down and pulled him towards the ringpost. The ref called for the bell for a DQ on Legacy.

Triple H attacked Rhodes on the outside, but Rhodes fought back. Michaels went after Dibiase near the crowd barrier and the two wound up fighting into the crowd, as HHH continued brawling with Rhodes ringside. Lillian Garcia ended up running out of her seat as HHH attacked Rhodes near the time keeper aarea. The two wound up in the crowd as well, with HHH seeming to toss Rhodes into a camera. Raw went to commercial with the fight still going. Shawn Michaels wins due to disqualification of Ted Dibiase when Cody Rhodes interfered.

Raw returned with no conclusion of the DX-Legacy brawl. Cole and Lawler showed footage again of the finish of the match, where Rhodes interfered, and the brawl broke out. Lawler claimed that at the point the Raw cameraman was knocked down, they lost pictures on their TV monitors and had no transmission anymore.

Hornswoggle & Evan Bourne vs. Chavo Guerrero & Carlito

Highlights were shown of Chavo Guerrero playing Price is Raw last week, and trying to win his match against Evan Bourne to win a brand new car. Hornswoggle came out with a squirt gun which distracted Chavo, allowing Bourne to roll up Chavo for the pin. Rosa Mendes escorted the team of Chavo and Carlito to the ring.

Hornswoggle got things started against Carlito. Carlito walked up with an apple in hand. Horney ran over and rammed into Carlito, then stole his apple, before quickly tagging out to Bourne. Bourne landed a Sunset Flip as Carlito was poking his head through the ropes going at Hornswoggle. Carlito escaped the pin, but was hit by Bourne's drop toehold and low kick to the head. Carlito managed to get over to tag in Chavo. Chavo managed to yank Bourne down across the top rope by his neck, but as Chavo was on the apron, Hornswoggle did a sliding kick into him. Chavo fell and hit chin first on the apron, allowing Bourne to regain control.

Carlito and Chavo started to work on Bourne, as Rosa yelled in Spanish from ringside. Bourne tried to fight back until he was leveled again, with Chavo taking control of things. Bourne started to kick back then ducked a clothesline and hit the headscissors. Bourne with momentum as he knocked Carlito off the apron. He was met by Chavo's elbow in the corner, but still recovered to kick Chavo. Carlito came back in the ring and went for a sneak attack Backstabber. Bourne eluded it and sent Carlito to the outside. He pulled Chavo over towards the corner, then tagged in Horney. Hornswoggle climbed the corner turnbuckle with the apple still in hand. Bourne ran over to jump over the ropes onto Carlito on the outside. Chavo was back on his feet and climbed to go after Horney, but Hornswoggle had eaten some apple and spit the chunks in Chavo's face. Chavo fell to the mat, allowing Hornswoggle to hit the Tadpole Splash for the win.

After the match, Bourne and Hornswoggle were up on the ramp celebrating. Chavo got on the mic and told Hornswoggle "You win, I give up". Hornswoggle & Evan Bourne win via pinfall over Carlito and Chavo Guerrero.

Cole and Lawler revisited the Steel Cage match for the WWE Title between Orton and Batista months ago at the Extreme Rules PPV 3 months ago. Batista won it with a Batista Bomb in the ring for the pinfall. The next night on Raw he was injured at the hands of Orton and Legacy, forcing The Animal to relinquish the title.

Josh Matthews interviewed the new WWE Champion John Cena backstage. Matthews asked Cena how he withstood all that punishment from Orton last night. Cena said some people just talk, while others back up what they say. Cena said despite Orton continuously saying the WWE Title was his life, he gave in last night. Cena said 2 weeks ago he made a promise to the WWE Universe "I Will not quit" and at Breaking Point he wanted to give up, but he gave his word and kept it. Cena then said Orton will probably continue to make false promises up until Hell in a Cell. Cena told Orton at Hell in a Cell he promises that Orton will see a more intense, brutal and savage side to him. Cena finished off with "The Champ is Here!"

Cole and Lawler discussed Hell in a Cell. They announced that DX will also face Legacy in a Hell in a Cell match to settle their feud once and for all.

Trish Stratus came out for the mixed tag team match. Her surprise partner was revealed to be Montell Vontavius Porter.

Trish Stratus & MVP vs. Beth Phoenix & Chris Jericho

Trish and Beth started off the match. Beth picked up Trish on her shoulder and quickly rammed her to the corner, followed by a bodyslam. Trish with the recovery and a series of forearm shots and chops to the chest in the corner. Beth came back at her and tried for a hard clothesline, with Trish doing a Matrix style duck move. The two continued to fight with Trish attempting a pin. Jericho rushed in to break it up, so MVP came in and took him out over the ropes. MVP sent Jericho into the crowd barrier. The two divas continued fighting in the ring. Suddenly, Big Show came rushing over to attack MVP ringside. The ref called for the bell for the DQ.

Mark Henry came out to chase off Show and beat on Jericho. The heels soon escaped up the ramp, as Lillian announced Trish and MVP as winners due to DQ. Trish shook her head and requested a mic. She said if Show wants to get involved they'll make this a six person tag match, right now. Trish Stratus & MVP win due to disqualification of Chris Jericho and Beth Phoenix.

Trish Stratus, Mark Henry & MVP vs. Beth Phoenix, Big Show & Chris Jericho

When Raw returned the match was in progress. Jericho was in control against MVP, and took several moments to raise his arm for the home territory fans. Jericho continued to dominate, with Trish and Henry trying to rally the crowd. Jericho ran over to strike Henry, causing the ref to have to hold Henry back from entering. MVP started to gain momentum finally, so Jericho made a quick tag out to Beth. Beth started to taunt MVP shoving him and telling him to look at her. MVP kept pointing to Jericho. Beth went for a kick move with MVP grabbing her leg and holding it, then pulling her over so he could tag in Trish. Trish immediately ran and tackled Beth with a series of punches. From there, she called MVP back in and they did a double Ballin' Elbow drop on Phoenix.

Jericho pulled Beth out of the ring, so MVP ran and jumped over the top rope to land on Jericho. Meanwhile, Trish prepared to run against the side rope to run and jump out at Beth, but Big Show tripped Trish down. Mark Henry rushed over to knock Big Show down. Beth quickly crawled over in the ring to pin Trish, who got her shoulder up before 3. Beth was furious and started kicking Trish then tried to whip her to the corner. Trish reversed and charged with Beth elbowing her. Beth sat on the corner, but Trish recovered then did her handstand to throw Beth from the corner. From there, Trish hit her finisher on Beth to win it with 100% Stratusfaction.

Highlights were shown from 3 months ago when Legacy attacked Batista in the ring, and injured his arm, forcing the Animal to go to the hospital. The WWE title was vacated and won by Orton in a Fatal Fourway match the next week.

Batista was shown walking in a hallway backstage. According to Lawler this is Batista's last match on Raw.

When Raw returned, Cole and Lawler announced that next week's celebrity guest host will be comedian/actor Cedric the Entertainer. Michael Cole called him Cedric the "Sports Entertainer".

Batista vs. Randy Orton (No Holds Barred Match)

Batista made his entrance and stared down Orton from up on the corner as Orton stayed safe outside the ring. As the match started, Orton slid to the outside and went for a steel chair. Batista came to the outside and knocked it out of his hands. The two fought with Batista gaining the advantage and putting Orton back in the ring. Orton went for his RKO as Batista tried to come in through the ropes, but Batista escaped it. Orton again escaped outside and went for a weapon under the ring, but Batista was back out to level him.

Orton ultimately took control back in the ring, and began to stomp away on Batista. With Batista down, Orton went outside and got the chair to bring in the ring. Batista was ready and quickly hit a Spear to take Orton down. Orton went outside, with Batista going out to beat him down. Cole noted that Batista bashed Orton's skull off the crowd barricade. Batista continued to punish orton near the barrier by standing on his head. Batista whipped Orton into the steel steps before tossing him back in the ring. Orton went for a RKO as Batista got in the ring with him, but Batista countered to slam Orton down. Orton started to back up the ramp, but as he got up towards the top, Cena's music hit. Cena came out and clotheslined Orton down, then tossed him back into the ring for The Animal.

Batista hit a quick Spinebuster on Orton then gave the thumbs down symbol. He picked up Orton for the Batista Bomb and hit it for the win. Cole said this has been a long time coming, and Smackdown needs to watch out. Raw ended with The Animal posing in the ring corner. Batista wins via pinfall over Randy Orton in a No Holds Barred match.

Breaking Point 2009 Results

The event called WWE Breaking Point has replaced the Unforgiven PPV this year, with a new title voted on by fans on WWE.com. The unique Pay-Per-View features all of its main event matches fought under submission rules. This means in order to win, the wrestler must force their opponent to submit, or in the case of the Randy Orton versus John Cena match, say "I Quit".

WWE Breaking Point 2009 Results

Mark Henry & MVP vs. Chris Jericho & Big Show (Unified Tag Team Championship Match)

After an early exit from the ring by Jericho to avoid MVP, the two competitors grappled. MVP took the early lead as he backed Jericho to the corner. The two traded punches, before MVP whipped Jericho to the ropes and hip-tossed him. MVP was able to get Jericho into the ropes to work on his shoulder, before Jericho got in a cheap shot move to gain control. MVP was able to tag in Mark Henry, prompting Jericho to tag in Show. As the two behemoths battled, Show tried for a splash onto Henry in the corner. Henry caught him in the air. Henry went for a bodyslam, with Jericho coming in to kick him so Show would fall on top. Henry kicked out of the pinfall. As the ref was distracted by Show, Jericho got in some cheap shots behind the ref's back.

Jericho tagged in to continue working on Mark Henry. The crowd seemed to be in support of him as they chanted "Y-2-J!" Eventually, Jericho tagged Show back in. Show and Henry collided in the ring, causing both men to hit the mat. The ref made his count, until both men crawled to their corners to tag their partners. MVP had the momentum and hit his Ballin' Elbow drop on Jericho for a near fall. Jericho went for Walls of Jericho, with MVP escaping it. Jericho was able to gain control as he put a reverse chinlock on MVP. MVP rolled him into the small package with Jericho kicking out. Jericho prevented MVP from a tag to Henry. MVP eventually hit a DDT move to break away and make a tag.

Mark Henry came in and pressed Jericho up over his head, then slammed him before hitting a Splash. Big Show came in to break up the pinfall attempt. Henry made sure to knock Show to the outside before pinning Jericho again. Jericho had a foot on the ropes to break it. Jericho went for a Codebreaker, with Henry catching him. Henry lifted Jericho up high then dropped him to the mat. As Henry seemed in control, Big Show managed to get in a knockout punch from outside the ring on him, allowing Jericho to get the winning pinfall. Chris Jericho and Big Show win via pinfall over Mark Henry & MVP to retain the Unified Tag Team Titles.

The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston (United States Championship Title Match)

Early in this match, Miz attempted his finisher the Skull Crushing Finale, but Kofi was able to counter. From there, Kofi attacked Miz, jumping on him in the corner, and then used kick strikes on him. Kofi seemed in control, until Miz hit a jawbreaker, then a snap suplex. Miz regained control as the crowd really seemed into this match. After a low blow on Kofi, Miz jumped off the corner with a double axehandle to smash Kofi down. Miz started to stomp away on Kofi, but was eventually tripped, falling face first into the turnbuckle. Kingston gained momentum and set up for his double leg drop on Miz, but Miz countered it. Both men were down on the mat as the ref counted.

Both men traded pinfall attempts as things started to heat up. After a side Russian legsweep, Kingston finally hit his double leg drop on Miz. Kofi flew onto Miz with the crossbody, which Miz turned into a near pinfall. Miz tried another pin, this time a rollup, and held Kofi's tights. Kingston kicked out, and quickly kicked Miz with Trouble in Paradise to take the win. Kofi Kingston wins via pinfall over The Miz to retain the United States Championship.

D-Generation X vs. Legacy (Submissions Count Anywhere Match)

Early on in this match, all four competitors battled it out at once. The action moved in and out of the ring and into the crowd at one point. The fans in Montreal seemed anti-HBK, but he still fought with Rhodes in the crowd. HBK and Dibiase ended up fighting at the top of the stairway in the crowd, with Triple H and Rhodes battling backstage in the arena.

At one point, HHH and HBK put Cody Rhodes through a chair in the ring, and each slapped on submission moves. Triple H locked in a Boston Crab while Shawn Michaels used a Camel Clutch. Ted Dibiase was able to rush in and make the save for his partner. Triple H and Dibiase continued to fight inside the ring, while HBK and Rhodes went to the outside. HHH with a Spinebuster and then a crossface submission. Rhodes was able to get HBK up on his shoulders in a torture rack type submission, with Triple H leaving the ring to make the save.

With HHH and Rhodes fighting backstage, Triple H put Cody into a storage container. Ted Dibiase made his way back there to sneak up on HHH, and started to punch away on him. Dibiase locked the Million Dollar Dream on HHH with Rhodes looking on. HHH escaped it, and was able to deliver a Spinebuster on Dibiase through a catering table, then locked a Crossface on Rhodes. Dibiase recovered to break it up.

Legacy took control when they smashed HHH with a steel chair, then attacked Michaels up the ramp. The duo pulled Michaels down the ramp by his hair then brought him in the ring. HBK was able to recover before they could do anything and sent Dibiase to the outside. Rhodes rolled HBK into an ankle lock, with HBK able to kick Cody away. As Michaels eventually kicked Cody in the gut, Triple H was shown backstage being helped up.

Legacy continued to work on Shawn Michaels 2-on-1 as Triple H eventually made his way back into the arena, rolling down the ramp. Cody Rhodes had managed to put Shawn Michaels into a Figure four leglock around the ringpost. HHH was unable to make the save in time, as HBK was forced to tap out before his partner could reach the ring area. Legacy wins via submission over D-Generation X.

Great Khali vs. Kane (Singapore Cane match)

Early on, both wrestlers grabbed Singapore Canes. Kane and Khali battled it out with their canes, before Kane managed to knock Khali to one knee by striking him on the back with his cane. Kane hit a low dropkick on Khali. Khali managed to come back as he grabbed a cane and started hitting Kane. Khali hit the Khali Chop, but failed at the pin attempt. Runjin Singh tried to strike Kane from behind with a cane, but Kane wasn't affected. Kane started to choke Singh, but Khali hit him with yet another Khali chop. Khali checked on Singh, and that moment allowed Kane to grab Khali and chokeslam him for a pinfall win. Kane wins via pinfall over The Great Khali in the Singapore Cane match.

William Regal vs. Christian (ECW Title Match)

Regal had momentum in this one as he put Christian into several holds, including a surfboard stretch submission to wear him down. Christian escaped it, but Regal caught him with a running knee to his face followed by a near pinfall. In the corner, both men battled it out. Christian hit a Tornado DDT and got a 2 count on Regal. Regal with the comeback as he hit a Regalplex. Christian used a forearm clothesline to level Regal for another near fall.

As the match continued, Regal had control as he struck Christian with forearm shots. Christian countered and nearly hit his Killswitch, with Regal pushing him to the ropes. Regal went for his running knee move, but Christian avoided it and instead hit Killswitch to win the match. Christian wins via pinfall over William Regal to retain the ECW Title.

John Cena vs. Randy Orton (WWE Title "I Quit" Match)

Early in the match, Orton used a TV monitor on the outside to clock Cena in the head. In the ring, it almost looked like Deja Vu as Orton set up a chair to do another RKO move on Cena. Cena blocked the move and then began his momentum, eventually hitting a Five Knuckle Shuffle. After a near Attitude Adjustment, Orton was able to grab the ropes, then yanked Cena down across the top rope by his neck.

As the match continued, Orton was able to whip Cena into the steel steps outside the ring, then hit him with part of them. From there, Orton yelled at Cena to give up, with Cena refusing to. Orton went under the ring to grab a bag, and revealed a pair of handcuffs along with a key on a chain. Orton cuffed Cena to the top rope, and started to attack Cena unmercifully.

Orton continued to use the cuffs on Cena, bringing him across the turnbuckle at one point. He yelled at Cena not to pass out and threw water at him, with Cena spitting it back at him. Orton then grabbed a nearby Singapore Cane and began to beat on Cena with it. Orton had the cane to Cena's throat, but Cena escaped when he kicked Orton in the groin. Cena fell to the ground, and when he walked over to Orton, The Viper was ready with a steel chair which he smashed on Cena's head.

Orton continued his sinister work with the handcuffs on Cena, uncuffing and re-cuffing him around the ringpost area. Orton used a steel chair shot to try to wear him down even more. Eventually though, Cena landed a backdrop on Orton, and was able to steal the key away from him. Cena uncuffed himself and then cuffed he and Orton together. Cena started to go wild as he attacked Orton with body shots. Orton was able to withstand a near Attitude Adjustment and then hit the RKO on Cena. He tried to drag Cena with him to get the key to unlock the cuffs, but Cena pulled him back to the center of the ring. Cena locked in his STF submission and wrapped part of the cuffs around Orton's throat, eventually leading to Orton yelling "I Quit, I Quit". John Cena wins the I Quit Match over Randy Orton to become new WWE Champion.

Undertaker vs. CM Punk (World Heavyweight Submission Match)

This match brought the surprise of the night with it. Early on, Punk used a steel chair to bash on Taker after jabbing him in the gut. Back in the ring, Punk did a knee to Taker in the corner, followed b y the running bulldog attempt. Taker blocked that, then went for Old School. Punk tripped him up to put Taker on the ropes crotch first. Punk then superplexed Undertaker in the ring.

The Undertaker and Punk started punching each other back and forth. Taker took control of the match and was about to hit the Chokeslam, but Punk countered it then hit a roundhouse kick to the head. Punk walked towards Taker, but Taker quickly wrapped him up in the Hells Gate submission hold. Taker locked the hold in and after just a few seconds, Punk tapped out, seeming to give Taker the big win.

Teddy Long's music hit and the Smackdown GM arrived out to the ramp. Long informed everyone that Undertaker's "Hell's Gate" Submission hold was banned by former GM Vickie Guerrero a while back, and was never reinstated. Punk said that decision stands, so the match would be restarted.

After the re-start, CM Punk did a sneak attack on Undertaker from behind, then put on the Anaconda Vice submission hold. The referee immediately called for the bell, but Undertaker was never seen tapping out. CM Punk was given the World Heavyweight belt and somehow is still champion in a very strange finish to the Pay-Per-View. CM Punk wins to retain the World Heavyweight Title.

ECW Results 09-08-09

Josh Matthews and Matt Striker welcomed fans to the show less than a week ahead of Breaking Point, the WWE's "revolutionary new PPV concept". Tonight's main event will feature Christian and Tommy Dreamer teaming up to take on William Regal's henchmen, Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson. The Hurricane's video entrance and music came on to start the show, as Hurricane came out for the opening bout.

The Hurricane vs. Paul Burchill

Katie Lea accompanied her brother to the ring for the match. Hurricane and Burchill each have won against the other once before. Early on after both men ducked each other's clothesline attempts, Hurricane jumped on the corner and flipped back for a flying crossbody onto Burchill. As the two were down on the mat, Burchill was able to take control briefly. Hurricane came back though and was applying a stretch "Octopus" submission, but Burchill picked him to slam Hurricane down.

Burchill had control for a while, then charged at Hurricane near the ropes. Hurricane pulled the top rope down so Burchill flew out of the ring. From there, Hurricane leapt over the top rope onto Burchill with a crossbody. ECW took a break with both men down outside the ring. Outside the ring, Burchill hit a Pele kick on Hurricane, but as they got back in to fight, Burchill charged at Hurricane in the corner. Hurricane moved away and Burchill hit shoulder first to the ringpost. Hurricane took control but couldn't capture the pinfall, so he went to the corner and hit a crossbody. Burchill managed to boot Hurricane as he charged at him in the corner. Burchill then sat on the corner, but Hurricane came over to attack, eventually climbing up. Burchill grabbed Hurricane to hit what Striker called a "Bam Bam" slam off the corner.

Hurricane landed a Hurricanrana from the corner with Burchill, but again Burchill kicked out of the pinfall. Katie Lea got on the side apron to distract Hurricane. He went over and pointed at her, then turned around to go at Burchill. Hurricane avoided Burchill's attack and shoved him into Katie Lea, knocking her off the apron. Hurricane grabbed Burchill from behind and hit the Eye of the Hurricane to collect the pinfall. The Hurricane wins via pinfall over Paul Burchill.

Strikers and Matthews discussed the ECW title picture and showed highlights from last week as Christian and Tommy Dreamer went to the ring and used Singapore Canes to attack Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson on the ramp.

Josh Matthews introduced another new female member of ECW's broadcast team backstage, Savannah. Savannah interviewed Tommy Dreamer and Christian backstage. They said they're ready for a fight and taking a stand against Regal and his allies.

Shelton Benjamin & Sheamus vs. & Yoshi Tatsu & Goldust

The Gold Standard and Goldust started off with a frenzy of moves. Goldust after a few hip tosses, was in control, as Shelton backed away to his corner. Sheamus and Yoshi were soon in, with Yoshi delivering a series of kicks to Sheamus in the corners. Shelton distracted Yoshi from the apron, allowing Sheamus to deliver a massive clothesline. The heels started to dominate, until Yoshi was able to duck Shelton near the ropes. Shelton fell to the outside, and then yanked down Goldust so Yoshi couldn't make a tag to him. Yoshi managed to escape though as he fought off Sheamus in the ring, and jumped to tag in Goldust.

Goldust whipped Sheamus from corner to corner. Shelton made a blind tag on Sheamus after he delivered a huge boot to Goldust near their corner. With Goldust down, Shelton snuck into the ring and covered Goldust for the win. Sheamus was not happy with Shelton's taking the pinfall and confronted him after the bell.

Sheamus punched Shelton down to the mat, then prepared to pick him up for a move. Shelton jumped on Sheamus and started punching away, and the two started rolling around to the outside. The brawl continued outside the ring with about 4 referees trying to break it up. At one point they had them separated, but Shelton broke away and tackled Sheamus down again for more punches. Shelton Benjamin & Sheamus win via pinfall over Yoshi Tatsu & Goldust.

Rory Fargo vs. Zack Ryder

Ryder took Fargo down early and started to slap him around cockily. Ryder put Fargo onto the middle rope and drove his knee into the amateur's back. Fargo started to punch back, but Ryder yanked his tights to toss him to the corner turnbuckle. After a running boot to Fargo in the corner, Ryder quickly set up the Zack Attack to take the pinfall victory. Zack Ryder wins via pinfall over Rory Fargo.

Matthews and Strikers ran down the card for this Sunday's Breaking Point, which includes Christian defending the ECW title against William Regal.

Backstage, new ECW star Tyler Reks spoke to GM Tiffany. Reks said his favorite part of being there is the people. Just then, William Regal came into the room with Jackson and Kozlov. He exchanged words with Reks, and Reks said he'd catch Tiffany later. Regal then asked Tiffany how she could allow Christian and Dreamer to attack his men with weapons last week. Tiffany reminded him of the brutal attack they did on Christian and Dreamer for several weeks. Regal then said his men will demonstrate how ruthless they are in the ring tonight, and he will make Tiffany proud this Sunday when he becomes the new ECW champion.


Tommy Dreamer & Christian vs. Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson

Regal accompanied his men to the ring for the main event. Christian and Kozlov started things off, with Kozlov wrapping his arms around Christian's torso. Christian elbowed out to put a headlock on Kozlov. Kozlov sent Christian at the ropes then rammed him down. The crowd erupted into an E-C-Dub chant early on.

Kozlov went over and tagged in Jackson, so Christian tagged in Dreamer. Jackson shoved Dreamer down early, but Dreamer got right back up and ducked Jackson's punches. Dreamer managed to avoid Jackson as he ran at him, causing Jackson to go outside the ring, landing on his feet. Dreamer made a quick tag to Christian who did a series of baseball slide dropkicks, one to kick Jackson outside the ring and then one to kick Kozlov off the apron. From there, Christian tried to jump on Jackson, but Jackson caught him. Dreamer ran off the apron to jump onto Jackson and Christian.

ECW returned with a double Russian Legsweep by Dreamer and Christian on Jackson. Jackson fought back from the apron to take control against Dreamer, and soon Kozlov was in to punish him. The duo continued their doubleteam efforts to wear Dreamer down. Dreamer kept struggling for a tag, but couldn't get over to Christian. Kozlov set Dreamer in the corner, but Dreamer managed to kick him away, then jumped off the middle ropes to clothesline Kozlov down. Dreamer made the hot tag to Christan who came in to go at Kozlov. Christian kept trying to knock Kozlov down, and after two missile dropkicks Kozlov was down. Christian attacked Jackson on the apron, and at one point was punching back and forth on both Jackson/Kozlov. Kozlov rammed Christian down to the mat, and Jackson tagged in. Jackson soon had the ECW champ in an excruciating submission move.

Kozlov and Jackson worked over Christian, with Kozlov taking control. Kozlov put Christian up in a torture rack, with Dreamer looking on. Christian slid off and punched Kozlov, then tried to jump past him to tag Dreamer. Kozlov caught Christian to cut him off and hit a Fallaway Slam. Jackson was back in again with yet another submission hold to wear Christian down. Christian was able to elude Kozlov in the corner, then jumped off to knock him down. Christian with the tag to Dreamer as Kozlov tagged Jackson.

Dreamer gained serious momentum, eventually hitting a Frogsplash off the corner onto Jackson. Kozlov came in and kicked Dreamer to break up the pin. Christian rushed in and took Kozlov to the outside. Meanwhile, back in the ring Regal came over to the side area to distract Dreamer. Jackson grabbed Dreamer and hit his one armed slam on Dreamer to collect the pinfall.

Regal got in the ring with his thugs and stood over the fallen Dreamer to raise their arms. Regal then put the "Regal Stretch" on Dreamer on the mat. Christian was still outside the ring and tried to pull himself up near the ropes. Regal went over and kicked him to send Christian down towards the crowd barricade. Ezekiel Jackson & Vladimir Kozlov win via pinfall over Christian & Tommy Dreamer.

Raw Results 09-07-09

Announcer The Fink introduced WWE Raw, and then tonight's special guest host, nine-time Emmy award winner and author, Bob Barker. Barker came to the top of the ramp which was decorated like the Price is Right game show. The fans gave Barker a roaring ovation for several minutes. Barker said he would be playing a pricing game on Price is Raw, but needed four contestants first. The Fink called out Santino Marella's name and Santino came rushing out of the crowd. Next out was Jillian Hall, and then I.R.S. Finally, Fink called out Chris Jericho who wasn't showing up. Finally, Chris Jericho came waltzing out from backstage looking unhappy to be there. All four of the WWE personalities stood at game show podiums to bid on the Smackdown Anniversary DVD presented by diva Rosa Mendes.

Santino was first to bid, and asked for a vowel, with Barker reprimanding him. Santino bid $1,465. Next up was Jillian who professed her love to Barker by singing Celine Dion's "I Will Always Love You". Jillian sang her bid of $75. I.R.S. was next and asked if the bid includes taxes. IRS bid $50 including taxes. Finally was Chris Jericho who was looking upset. Jericho refused to bid then walked up on the ramp towards Barker. Jericho began to confront Barker and told him to show him respect. Jericho started to say he was 1/2 of the tag champions, but Barker cut him off with 1 and made that Jericho's bid. Jericho won the bid with his bid of $1, so Barker told him to get in the ring. Fink announced Jericho had a chance to win a trip to Hawaii next. The Bella Twins were shown in Hula outfits dancing in front of the Greetings from Hawaii postcard. Barker said all Jericho has to do is beat his opponent, MVP.

MVP vs. Chris Jericho

The two superstars had a rematch from last week. Both men exchanged holds early, with Jericho able to throw a shoulder and knocked MVP down. MVP came back and started building momentum as he rammed Jericho in the corner. After a series of elbows and punches, Jericho started to fight back with headbutts, then tried to send MVP to the ropes. MVP tripped him down and hit a low dropkick. Jericho knocked MVP onto the apron, then tried to jump at him from the ropes, with MVP moving away. Jericho fell to the outside as Raw went to commercial.

Raw returned with Jericho in control in the ring as he locked a headlock on MVP. The fight continued with MVP rushing towards Jericho to boot him, but Jericho moved causing MVP to fall outside. Jericho went for a pin putting a foot on the ropes, and the ref refused to count it. MVP nearly stole the match with a surprise pin, but Jericho kicked out. Jericho had a near fall as well, then yelled at the ref. Jericho came back again after some MVP offense, and hit a bulldog. Jericho went for a Lionsault, with MVP avoiding it and Jericho landing on his feet. MVP was about to hit the Ballin' Elbow, but Jericho avoided it and locked MVP into Walls of Jericho. MVP managed to counter it though and rolled up Jericho for a pin. After a near pinfall, MVP leveled Jericho for another pinfall attempt.

Jericho shoved MVP hard to the corner, then tried for the Codebreaker. MVP held himself up with the ropes to prevent it, then flipped onto Jericho grabbing his legs for a solid pinfall. MVP wins via pinfall over Chris Jericho.

Cole and Lawler introduced highlights of last week's Raw with special guest host Dusty Rhodes. Rhodes granted his son Cody Rhodes a WWE Title match against his mentor Randy Orton, with special guest ref, John Cena. As the main event match was about to start, Dusty stopped it and a beatdown ensued with Legacy attacking Cena 3-on-1. DX ran down to the ring for a save, with Dusty Rhodes using his boot to clock HHH. All four men stood with their arms raised over the fallen superstars as Raw ended, right before Orton RKO'd Dusty Rhodes.

Due to last week's set up, John Cena will challenge Cody Rhodes tonight.

Kelly Kelly was backstage with Bob Barker and a set up of his new book. She asked about the charity that proceeds would be going to, and he explained it was for helping pets. Just then, DX came walking up to tell Barker how much they were fans of him. Barker had them come over to a special wheel to spin and determine who their opponents would be tonight. Michaels kept complaining about it then finally spun the wheel and came up with Chris Masters. Triple H went next and his spin revealed Randy Orton. DX thanked Bob and told him they'd be back later for the Showcase Showdown.

Highlight footage was shown from last week's match where Hornswoggle hogtied Chavo Guerrero who had to wear a full cow costume. Hornswoggle had the help of Evan Bourne to complete a Tadpole Frogsplash on Chavo.

Evan Bourne vs. Chavo Guerrero

Bob Barker came up on the Titantron to reveal that Chavo could win a Corvette if he won the match. The Bella Twins were shown sitting in the car modeling it.

Chavo gained the upperhand early as he locked in a hold to stretch Bourne's arm back. Evan tried to stretch to the ropes with Chavo trying to flip him. Bourne fell on top of Chavo instead, but Chavo got out and continued trying to dominate Bourne. Bourne used kicking strikes to fight back, despite his hurt midsection. Bourne with a headscissors and then fast paced moves to take Chavo down. Chavo got back in control and went on to the corner, with Bourne climbing up and trying for a move. Chavo avoided it and Bourne fell from the ropes to the mat. Chavo with the Tres Amigos suplexes, and then returned to the corner for his attempted Frogsplash. Hornswoggle came out from under the ring with a squirt gun and got in the ring to start spraying Chavo. Chavo jumped down and went after Horney, eventually shoving him down. Bourne came over to grab Chavo for a roll up pin to grab the win. Evan Bourne wins via pinfall over Chavo Guerrero.

Cole and Lawler hyped up the upcoming Breaking Point Pay-Per-View, and the theme song "Still Unbroken" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

John Cena was shown walking backstage en route for the next match.

Raw Rewind showed Orton's maniacal attack on Dusty Rhodes last week when he RKO'd him right in front of Cody. Cody was beside himself but stayed near the corner, showing his frustration, as Orton kept his cold look.

Members of the Chicago White Sox were shown in the Raw audience.

John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes

This Sunday, DX faces Legacy in a Submissions count anywhere match. Rhodes got on the mic prior to the match to let people know he's still a member of Legacy. Rhodes said it doesn't mean he agrees with what Orton did to his dad. Cody said his dad didn't make him a main eventer, but Randy Orton did. Cody said his father has always been excellent. Rhodes said he had to choose between family and career, so this Sunday it will be shown that he made the right choice. Rhodes said he'll make Cena tap out to prove himself tonight. Rhodes said there's nothing this son won't do for his career.

Rhodes was able to knock Cena to the outside halfway through the match, and went out to beat on him further. Back in the ring, Cena tried to mount offense with Rhodes taking control again. Rhodes started to work on Cena's left leg and was about to go for a figure four, but Cena kicked him away. Cena prepared for a STF with Cody kicking out. After a Russian Leg Sweep, Rhodes went for a pinfall but Cena kicked out. Rhodes continued to try various holds such as wristlocks and chinlocks to wear Cena down.

Cena again had his burst of offense with shoulder blocks and a flipping bulldog move. He tried for the legdrop off the corner with Rhodes avoiding it. Rhodes tried for a Figure Four leglock again. Cena countered by grabbing Rhodes' ankle and twisting it around, then reversing the move into the STF. Rhodes was ready to tap but Randy Orton came rushing into the ring. Cena eluded Orton and tripped him down for another near STF. Orton slithered away outside the ring and up the ramp. Meanwhile, Cena grabbed Rhodes, held him up and finally did a Attitude Adjustment to make a statement to Orton. John Cena wins due to disqualification when Randy Orton interfered.

An advertisement showed that Batista will be back on Monday Night Raw next week in what could be a "career altering announcement".

Barker came back out to the ramp, escorted by Rosa Mendes. Jillian, Santino and IRS awaited Fink to call another player. Fink called out Chicago White Sox catcher AJ Pierzynski who came jumping out of the audience and rushed up to the podiums area. The four contestants had to bid on a Wrestlemania 26 Travel package for next year's event. Santino won the bid and ran up to hug Bob Barker on stage. Barker revealed Santino's possible next prize, a new hot tub. The Bella Twins were shown in red bikinis inside the tub on the Titantron. Santino asked Barker if the Bella Twins come with the Hot Tub. Barker said Santino will need to bodyslam his opponent in the next match to win the prize. Barker revealed Santino's opponent to be The Big Show.

Santino Marella vs. Big Show (Bodyslam Match)

Santino tried to run up and grab Big Show for a slam fast. Santino hurt his back and Show picked him up for the very quick slam to win the match. Barker seemed to be baffled over who won and kept asking if the match was over. Finally he realized it was, and then said Big Show has another opponent. Mark Henry was introduced and came to the ring as Raw went to break. Big Show wins the Bodyslam match over Santino Marella.

Raw returned with the match in progress as Henry pummeled Show until he left the ring. Show got back in and started to take control until Henry battled back with a combo of moves including a headbutt. Show elbowed him in the back and started to punch away on Henry. Show and Henry each tried for bodyslam attempts but couldn't budge the other. Show tried to pick up Henry and Henry fell on top of him. As Show got back up, Henry tried again to slam Show. Show countered and sent Henry to the corner but got a boot to the face when he charged. Henry charged Show and got an elbow to the face. Show went for the slam with Henry bashing him on the back. Henry mustered up all his strength and was able to pick up Show to slam him down. MVP came to the ring to celebrate with his tag team partner. Cole said he thinks Henry and MVP have a shot to win the titles on Sunday. Mark Henry wins the bodyslam match against BIg Show.

Josh Matthews interviewed Bog Barker backstage, about his new book "Priceless Memories". Barker recalled one contestant who got called down to the stage and lost her tube top on the way. He then discussed the various injuries he got from different contestants rushing up to hug and greet him.

Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole were in the ring as Raw returned to announce next week's guest host will be Trish Stratus. The commentators hyped up Breaking Point PPV next, saying all main events need to end by submission and ran down the lineup of matches including Cena vs. Orton and CM Punk vs. Undertaker.

Barker was sitting backstage with a pile of his new books. Chavo came rushing in and complained that Hornswoggle and Evan Bourne cheated him out of the match plus the car. Chavo started to threaten Barker, so Barker punched him in the gut, then karate chopped him on the back.

D-Generation X vs. Chris Masters & Randy Orton

Cole and Lawler discussed the Submission match for the WWE Title coming up at Breaking Point, as Orton entered the ring and hoisted up the championship belt. HBK and Masters started off the match, with Masters using his power to gain control. HBK went for an early Superkick and Masters slid down then escaped the ring. Orton went over to help Masters regroup as Raw went to commercial.

Raw returned with Orton pounding on Triple H in the corner. As Orton, sent HHH to the opposite corner, HHH came back at him with a hard clothesline. HHH wrenched Orton's arm back to make a tag to HBK. HBK looked to work on Orton's arm, but Orton punched him down. Michaels was able to turn it around though and tagged Hunter back in to take control. HHH went for a near Pedigree, with Orton backflipping him. Orton waited for HHH to stand and tried for the RKO with HHH shoving him away. HHH knocked Randy to the mat for a knee to the face, and threw him into HBK's boot for another tag.

Masters was able to tag back in and took control against Michaels. He began stomping away on him and dropped an elbow with Orton watching closely. Orton backed up then ran and jumped to knee Michaels in the face, before making another tag to Masters. Masters and Orton started the doubleteam strategy on Michaels. Masters eventually tossed HBK to the ouside then argued with the ref, allowing Orton to go over and kick Michaels some.

With Orton back in the ring he hit a standing dropkick to bring HBK down. Orton with a headlock as Michaels fought to his feet. HBK gained momentum and rushed against the ropes to come flying at Masters with a forearm. Both men were down as the ref counted. Eventually Masters was up to make a tag. Michaels did his flip to his feet from the mat, and made the hot tag to HHH. The Game with a series of moves on Masters including a Facebuster and Spinebusters to take Masters down. Michaels tagged in and went off the corner for an elbow drop. Michaels prepared for Sweet Chin Music, but Orton came over on the apron. Michaels knocked him down, so HHH ran over and tackled Orton over the commentators' table. Michaels went for Sweet Chin Music on Masters, who ducked it and put the Masterlock on Michaels.

Michaels struggled but couldn't break the hold. Finally, HHH rushed in and smashed Masters from behind. Orton came in and HHH clotheslined him down. In unison, Michaels and HHH locked Figure Fours on both men. Michaels got Masters to tap out to win it. As the bell had sounded, Legacy rushed to the ring to save Orton and get him out of the ring. They proceeded up the ramp, but DX chased them up near the crowd and started to give them a beatdown. Michael Cole said this is what you may see Sunday, since Falls count anywhere in the building. Orton was hiding behind a curtain and looked to have escaped trouble as he got up on the stage. Orton began to sneak around the ramp area. DX and Legacy were shown brawling throughout the building and outside. Dibiase handed a chair to Rhodes who swung at the door as DX came through. Michaels and HHH ducked it. Rhodes and Dibiase then grabbed a bystanders car and took off as DX rushed after them. D-Generation X wins via submission over Chris Masters and Randy Orton.

Randy Orton stood in the ring thinking he was safe, and grabbed a mic. Orton said to get used to looks of disappointment on the faces of DX, because they will submit at Breaking Point. Orton promised to retain the title at the PPV this Sunday, then started to address John Cena. Before he could say a word, Cena's music hit and out came Cena. Cena stared down at the ring then rushed it and tackled Orton inside. The two began rolling around, with Orton rolling to the outside. Cena followed him and tossed Orton back in the ring. As Cena tried to get back in the ring, Orton grabbed him through the ropes for a DDT. Orton went out and grabbed a chair then returned to the ring with it. Orton set the chair up, then brought Cena to his feet. After a few moments, Orton RKO'd Cena headfirst onto the chair seat. Orton yelled at Cena down on the mat, saying Cena will say "I Quit" on Sunday.

Rey Mysterio Suspension

Rey Mysterio has officially began his 30 day suspension from the WWE for violating the WWE's wellness policy. Even though this is Rey's first offense against the wellness policy it is not the first time his name has been mentioned when substance abuse has been talked about in the past.

The WWE had to hand over the Intercontinental Championship and they did on the September 4 edition of Smackdown when Mysterio lost it in a match against John Morrison.

ECW Results 09-01-09

Matt Striker and Josh Matthews welcomed fans to the land of extreme, then reminded everyone they will show an encore of the Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels match from Wrestlemania 25. Shelton Benjamin made his way to the ring for the opening match.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Zack Ryder

Highlights were shown from last week's tag match, where Shelton couldn't get a tag from Ryder. He finally threw him into the ring, but then Ryder shoved Yoshi Tatsu into Shelton. Yoshi came back to hit a roundhouse kick on Ryder for the win. Afterwards, Shelton hit Paydirt on Ryder in the ring.

Early on, Ryder tore off his headband and threw it in Shelton's direction then began beating on him. Shelton bacme back and was able to send Ryder to the corner for a splash. He tried for the opposite corner with Ryder able to comeback and hit a neckbreaker. Ryder kept Shelton down with a chinlock then a headlock. Shelton fought to his feet and elbowed out, then hit a spinning move by jumping off the top rope at Ryder. Shelton continued to dominate as he smashed Ryder across his knee for a backbraker. Ryder tried to dump Shelton over the ropes, but Shelton remained on the apron. He jumped onto the top rope and as Ryder turned, Shelton jumped and did a springboard blockbuster move to bring Ryder down. Ryder got up near the ropes and Shelton hit Paydirt to win it. Shelton Benjamin wins via pinfall over Zack Ryder.

Matthews and Striker discussed the whole Sheamus-Goldust rivalry. Last week the two wrestlers fought to a double countout as they battled outside the ring. Tonight in the main event the two will fight in a no count out no disqualification match.

Tony Atlas was back on ECW again as he acted as the setup man for Abraham Washington, introducing him to the arena. Abraham came out all smiles shaking Tony's hand. Washington insulted Cleveland and Arsenio Hall who is originally from there. Washington called himself the most exciting thing to come to Cleveland since Lebron James, then reminded fans that Lebron got dunked on. Tony Atlas continually laughed at every joke Washington said. Washington introduced his guest Gregory Helms, the backstage interviewer.

Washington immediately came out to ask if Helms was The Hurricane. Helms said he's just Gregory Helms and that's it. Helms said he had a serious neck injury so he came to ECW to be part of the broadcast team. Washington kept introducing him as the Hurricane, then brought out Paul Burchill with Katie Lea. Tony Atlas told Katie Lea she looks hot. Burchill started calling Helms a joke, fraud and embarassment. Burchill said he'll keep beating him down as long as Helms keeps insulting his intelligence. Just then, Hurricane Helms appeared on the Titantron live from Gotham City. Hurricane issued a challenge to Burchill for next week on ECW. Burchill said he doesn't know why Helms keeps playing these games but he'll see him next week.

Striker introduced an Undertaker promo video which highlighted the Deadman's phenomenon, and included words from other wrestlers like MVP, CM Punk, Big Show, John Cena and Rey Mysterio.

William Regal was shown walking backstage behind the behemoths, Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson, on their way out to the ring.

Mike Tolar & Jim Parks vs. Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson

Regal lead his ruthless wrestlers to the ring to show off their skills against two amateurs. Last week, Regal was able to defeat Christian thanks to a ramming shot in the gut from Vladimir Kozlov when the ref was distracted. Right as the bell sounded, Kozlov booted down Tolar then threw him with a belly-to-belly. Jackson tagged in, and Kozlov threw Tolar into his knee. Jackson with a series of slam moves to smash Tolar onto his knee. Kozlov tagged back in to smash Tolar down, and made another tag to Jackson to keep decimating Tolar. Jackson with a long standing suplex to deliver Tolar to the mat.

Jackson furiously went over and grabbed Parks by the head, then ran him across the apron into the ringpost. Parks fell off the apron to the outside. Jackson did his one armed bodyslam then tagged Kozlov to do his on Tolar for the pinfall. Regal came in to raise both men's arms up in victory. Regal put Tolar in the Regal stretch to further punish him.

Just then, Christian's music hit and out came Christian in street clothes to the ramp. Regal told Christian to come on down if he wants a fight. Christian said he's coming down but not without help. Out came Tommy Dreamer, making his return after he was attacked by Regal and Kozlov weeks ago. Regal laughed it off saying Tommy Dreamer must be mental to come back, and that it's 2 on 3 still. Christian said he knew that, so they brought more help. Dreamer pulled two Kendo sticks out from the back of his shirt. Christian and Dreamer went down the ramp and began cracking the sticks across Jackson and Kozlov as they came at them. Christian went into the ring at Regal, who quickly retreated outside with his men. Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson win via pinfall over Mike Tolar and Jim Parks.

Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker (Wrestlemania 25 Encore)

ECW's General Manager Tiffany appeared on camera to introduce the encore matchup of Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker from Wrestlemania 25. The match was shown with a soundtrack song of Shinedown's "Sound of Madness" and Snow Patrol's "Somewhere a Clock is Ticking" playing. Undertaker dominated for a while, with HBK finally coming back. Two dangerous spots featured each wrestler trying to jump out of the ring onto their opponents outside, with each avoiding the other. HBK went for Sweet Chin Music but was caught by Undertaker instead for a Chokeslam.

Michaels kicked out of the pin, then tried for Sweet Chin Music again. He finally hit it on try 3, but Taker got out of the pin as well. Taker grabbed Michaels for a Last Ride, with Michaels barely kicking out of the pin. Taker then missed on an elbow drop from the corner and tried to throw Michaels out of the ring. Michaels held on and tried to grab Taker around the neck with his legs and Taker turned it into the Tombstone Piledriver. Again, Michaels kicked out of it. Michaels tried for a backflip onto Taker from the corner, but Taker caught him and hit the Tombstone Piledriver to go 17-0 at Wrestlemania. The Undertaker wins via pinfall over Shawn Michaels.

Matt Striker reminded fans that Undertaker returns to Smackdown on Friday night.

Sheamus and Goldust were shown walking backstage on split screen, ready for the main event.

Goldust vs. Sheamus (No Countout, No DQ Match)

The two grappled early against the ropes and collided as they came off the ropes at each other. Sheamus took control with a series of clubbing strikes to the back of Goldust, then tried to attack in the corner with Goldust fighting out. Sheamus and Goldust traded slaps before Goldust knocked him down. Sheamus started up the ramp so Goldust chased after him and delivered a hard clothesline as ECW went to break.

ECW returned with Goldust in control as he clotheslined Sheamus out of the ring. Goldust bashed Sheamus against the barrier then tried to return to the ring. Sheamus was back up to ram Goldust in the gut and then toss him against the ringpost. Goldust fell hard to the outside so Sheamus went out to slam him on the ground. Sheamus tossed Goldust back in for an attempted pinfall.

Sheamus kept attacking Goldust to further punish him, as he stretched his back against the ringpost. After taking an in-ring beating, Goldust began to make a comeback, but was favoring his back. Sheamus knocked him down, then Goldust surprised him with a rollup. Sheamus kicked out so Goldust hit a powerslam for another pin attempt. Sheamus escaped to the outside, so Goldust ran off the apron to clothesline him. Both men threw each other into the ringpost at one point. Back in the ring, Goldust went for a bulldog with Sheamus shoving him off it.

Goldust was able to hit his drop down slap punch to Sheamus, but right after Sheamus delivered a running boot to level Goldust. Sheamus followed with his slam move to smash Goldust across his knee for the pinfall win. Sheamus wins via pinfall over Goldust. Sheamus celebrated on the ramp as ECW went off the air.
